4 Hour Body Review
What You Should Know
We don’t have to read too far into the 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss to know much of the book is simply untrue. According to the official website, the book will lay out how the dieter can lose more weight by eating slow carbs and gaining muscles with only 4 hours of workouts a month. In addition to weight loss and muscle building claims, the book covers sexual performance and weight loss with ice bags. Dieters can learn how to reverse injuries, run 50 K in just 12 weeks and sleep only two hours a day. With so much going on, there is not enough space in the book to cover a healthy eating and workout program, though the 4 Hour Body claims neither of these is needed for optimal health.

Tips on how to lose weight without exercise.
Tim Ferriss is the famous author of the 4 Hour Work Week. In this book, the 4 Hour Body, he attempts to give readers insight into how he lost weight while binge eating and gained 34 pounds of muscle in just one-month working out only 4 hours, the entire month.
The old saying goes, if it appears too good to be true, it probably is and that is how we feel about the 4 Hour Body. The official website gives a bit of insight into the theme of the book, but a link leads readers to Amazon.com where the book is sold. Amazon.com sells for book for less than $14.
The basic tips for weight loss include leaving behind white foods, eating the same meal choices all the time and skipping fruit. Each week the dieter is allowed to take one day off to eat as they please. Chapters 3 and 4 are dedicated to weight loss and muscle building. The rest of the book is dedicated to sex, perfect sleep, running faster and recovering or reversing injuries.
Reviews of the 4 Hour Body are mixed. Most dieters claim the information is nothing new, but that Ferriss manages to keep the reader pushing through the book with stories of the things he has done in an effort to research this book thoroughly.
- Talks about healthy eating by reducing white foods.
- Supports low carb, or slow carb eating.
- Factors sleep and exercise into weight loss.
- Most of the book is dedicated to topics other than weight loss.
- Binging and cheat days are not part of long-term weight loss.
- Dieters are not thrilled by the information presented in the book.
The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss reads more like a life tale than a self-help book. The author attempts to give the reader ways to lose more in less time so they can spend more time doing something else. Weight loss is about life changes, not speeding through weight loss as that may lead to rebound weight gain.
