8 Factor Diet Review
What You Should Know
8 Factor Diet is a supplement containing dangerous ingredients as noted by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. Though herbal supplements are not regulated, initially, by the FDA, if there is cause for concern, the governing body investigates the supplement and, if necessary, pulls the product from shelves and bans the product or select ingredients. This is what happened with Ephedra-based products.
List of Ingredients
Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein.
Weight loss supplements often contain stimulants and appetite suppressants to help dieters achieve weight loss goals. The trouble is, not every supplement company is governed by the same ethics as others. The 8 Factor Diet pill contained two ingredients that would cause an increase in weight loss when combined. Sibutramine is a stimulant linked to increased risk of heart attack, hypertension and death. Phenolphthalein is a laxative linked to cancer risk and damage to DNA. When these two ingredients were combined for the 8 Factor Diet, it created a dangerous supplement that should never be considered safe for weight loss.
Another problem with the 8 Factor Diet is that the two ingredients in question are marketed as prescription medications in the United States. Doctors prescribe these medications for weight loss and other purposes, but patients are watched closely for potential side effects. When the 8 Factor Diet used these ingredients in their formula, it took the doctor out of the equation, not to mention breaking laws in the United States.
Finding the 8 Factor Diet from a United States based retailer is nearly impossible because the FDA watches retailers closely. International retailers, however, continue to sell the 8 Factor Diet, or a product using that name, for prices between $20 and $80 a month. There is a good chance these supplements do not contain the original ingredients. Rather, they are using the name 8 Factor Diet to promote product sales.
- The combination of ingredients promoted weight loss.
- Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein are dangerous weight loss medications.
- Potential health risks include heart attack, cancer and death.
- International retailers continue to sell the 8 Factor Diet despite FDA regulations prohibiting the ingredients for herbal use.
- Health risks exist even if the product is taken in prescription form.
The 8 Factor Diet is one of the most dangerous weight loss products ever sold. In addition to this supplement, there were many more found to contain prescription medications – all subsequently were banned for sale in the United States. While the FDA does not regulate the industry as closely as the prescription drug industry, that does not give supplement companies the right to sell unsafe herbal or prescription treatments and medications just to promote weight loss.
