What You Should Know
A-173 is not a diet pill, but rather an abbreviation for Phentermine 37.5 mg tablet knock offs. When searching on the Internet, there were hundreds of websites offering links to Phentermine prescription diet pills that could be purchased without a prescription. This is illegal in most countries, but clicking through the ads revealed what products were truly being sold and few were prescription Phentermine.
Some websites were selling diet pills with names similar to Phentermine like Phentramine or Phentarmine. These diet pills are not related to the prescription medication aside from the name similarities. A-173 is marketed as the 37.5 mg version of the original Phentermine which requires a medical prescription and cannot be purchased online in the United States without one.

A-173, if referring the real prescription medication, comes with a long list of potential side effects which is common with prescription medications. Potential side effects can include chest pain, fainting, swelling of feet and legs, trouble breathing and inability to exercise.
The official website for Phentermine does not appear to be run by the drug company. Rather, the website links to several other sites that sell Phentermine without a prescription.
The whirlwind around A-173 stems from an assumed connection with Phentermine. Dieters should see this whirlwind as a reason to step away from the weight loss product. If a doctor prescribes a medication, local pharmacies will be able to fill that prescription or offer the web address of a trusted online pharmacy. A-173 is not Phentermine nor are the two connected in any way as far as we can tell.
- A-173 does not seem to be a real weight loss pill.
- There are several prescription knock-offs that may confuse dieters into ordering.

Dieters should not take any weight loss product marketed as A-173. There is a long list of reasons not to purchase any product by this name including, but no limited to, the fact that it is pushed as a prescription medication for less. Any reference to a link between A-173 and a doctor based diet medication are false.
