Ab Lounge XL Review
What You Should Know
Fitness Quest’s Ab Lounge XL brings an upgrade to previous Ab Lounge products, with increased weight capacity but the same basic features. The Ab Lounge XL allows the user to emphasize a “jackknife” motion while exercising, maximizing the tension on the abdominal muscles. In addition, the chair’s design allows the user to keep his or her entire body supported off the floor. This reduces the stress on the neck and head which results from improperly done exercises.
List of Ingredients
The Ab Lounge XL features many improvements over previous versions of the Ab Lounge. The rolled-steel frame is virtually the same, but supports more weight than previous models, up to 275 pounds. The lounge collapses into a portable unit that weighs approximately 35 pounds, allowing it to be stowed away after use. Handles and foot pedals help to support the user throughout the exercise, while a mesh-like fabric covers the body of the machine. The focus of the Ab Lounge XL is on the jackknife motion, or double crunch, which increases the effectiveness of the workout. At the same time, because the entire body is supported in the chair the stress on the head and neck is reduced, allowing the user to focus on the motion of the exercise. As with the other Ab Lounge models, some people are too tall or too short to properly use the machine, though the XL model has added footrests to allow use by taller people (up to 6’2″). Because it is essentially a chair, the XL has set dimensions that limit its flexibility; it measures 54″ long x 31 3/4″ wide x 45 1/2″ high. The Ab Lounge XL comes with a workout video and instructions for both set-up and regular use. There is some initial assembly required. The XL is a machine, and thus there is potential danger of injury with improper use or equipment failure. There is a ninety-day warranty with the Ab Lounge XL.

While the Ab Lounge XL improves on its predecessors, the one greatest disadvantage remains – the Ab Lounge XL is simply not a weight-loss method. In fact, the Ab Lounge neither claims to help weight loss nor even guarantees effective exercising. Its express purpose is to strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles rather than reduce weight. Unlike herbal supplements, the Ab Lounge XL is likely to produce weight loss only when used with other methods.
