Betty Goes Vegan takes 500 Betty Crocker recipes and veganizes them by removing all meat and animal based ingredients. However, as a result, many of the recipes recommend soy cheese and meat based products, that are highly processed and “fake.” The original Betty Crocker cookbooks are full of processed foods, too, but many people expected this to be a true vegan cookbook that did not rely on processed foods to recreate the recipes. Even though many people say they are disappointed in the number of “fake” substitutions, the book still has received a good number of positive reviews on websites such as The book is also available in eBook form so you can take your tablet right into the kitchen.
