Plexus BioCleanse Review - 14 Things You Need to Know

Plexus BioCleanse is a detoxifying supplement claiming to “flush out the digestive tract to get rid of harmful toxins.” The company also states the capsules promote weight loss, but the science was scarce. In fact, some users of this product have reported gaining weight, not losing it.

Our research crew found reports of other unpleasant side effects during their investigations, including nausea, dehydration, and diarrhea. We had to get to the bottom of this supplement, so we investigated every aspect of Plexus BioCleanse to give you the nitty-gritty on this internal cleanser.

Plexus BioCleanse can be purchased through their Official Site.

Overview

What is Plexus BioCleanse?

Plexus BioCleanse is marketed as a detoxifying dietary supplement that focuses on improving digestive health. According to the manufacturer, it aims to expedite the removal of harmful microbes and substances, thus aiding in the body’s natural detoxification process. The supplement is available in various sizes, including 60, 120, and 180 capsules, with pricing varying by retailer and quantity.

The product is primarily designed for cleansing the digestive tract, potentially aiding in weight loss, and eliminating toxins and harmful microbes from the body. However, it’s important to note that scientific research generally supports the body’s innate ability to detoxify itself without the need for supplemental intervention. Plexus BioCleanse is 100% vegetarian and free from artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, and gluten. It is part of a larger range of health and weight loss products offered by Plexus Worldwide.

When we took a brief look at the research, we found:

  • Journal of Dietary Supplements – Drinking plenty of water is imperative when taking this product, or any internal cleanse supplement. The reality is these supplements can dehydrate the body. They can also cause electrolyte imbalances and lead to diarrhea, which is a common side effect.
  • Journal of International Medical Research – Magnesium hydroxide may be more efficient than a bulk-laxative when treating constipation in some elderly patients, offers research.
  •  International Journal of Cosmetic Science – The University of Maryland Medical Center states vitamin C is a potent antioxidant; and necessary for growth. Vitamin C also helps the body make collagen, a crucial protein needed for skin, tendons, cartilage, blood vessels, and ligaments.

Plexus and the BBB

Plexus Worldwide, a well-known health and wellness company, achieved accreditation from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on December 29th, 2019, underscoring its commitment to customer satisfaction and business ethics. The company boasts an impressive “A+” rating from the BBB, the highest possible rating, reflecting its diligence in addressing customer concerns and maintaining business standards. This rating is further complemented by an average customer review score of 3.62 out of 5 stars, based on 86 customer reviews, which indicates a generally positive reception from its consumer base.

Over the past three years, Plexus has seen a total of 51 complaints filed against it through the BBB, a modest number relative to its size and market presence. Notably, 23 of these complaints were registered in the last 12 months, suggesting a recent increase in customer feedback. This rise could be indicative of various factors, including changes in product offerings, customer service practices, or simply an increase in customer engagement and feedback mechanisms. It’s important to note that the nature of these complaints, and the company’s responses to them, are key to understanding the context of the ratings and can provide potential customers with deeper insights into the company’s operations and customer service quality.

Plexus Worldwide’s BBB accreditation and high rating reflect a solid track record in customer relations and business practices, although the recent uptick in complaints suggests areas for potential improvement and close monitoring for prospective customers and partners.

Here are some alternatives to Plexus BioCleanse pills. These supplements are also used to clean and detoxify the body, flushing out the colon, and relieving digestive issues.

  • Super Colon Cleanse

Be aware these products are not for long-term weight loss. While some claim to help you drop some pounds, this weight is typically waste from the colon. Plexus BioCleanse is not specifically for fat loss, appetite suppression, or boosting metabolism. Therefore you shouldn’t expect any weight loss while taking this detox and cleansing formula.

Studies have shown intestinal cleansing can disrupt good bacteria in the digestive tract and lead to impaired bowel function, which can do more harm than good, says the Journal of Dietary Supplements.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health found detox and cleanse products may actually be unsafe, depending on the ingredients.

I am a 24 year old male and have been using a combo of the BioCleanse, ProBio5, and the Plexus Slim Packets for a little over 2 weeks. I started this to just be healthier, I am 6ft and was 194 lb’s and am now 173 lb’s. I cut all soda and coffee out and only drink water, I stopped eating fast food and do my best to say no to sweets. I am sure it is a combo of the plexus and diet change that caused the weight loss but I can’t really be certain. I feel really good and energized through the day BUT food does basically run right through me and it did kind of freak me out. I feel good though honestly aside from that side effect.

I have concerns about the Sodium Bicarbonate in this capsule. What is the function of that in this medication? is this Sodium like salt? I wouldn’t think it would be a healthy amount to be taking every day.

Sodium Bicarbonate is basically baking soda. It is found in many other dietary supplements, and is a great ingredient to have to reduce stomach acid. So its used as an antacid as well.

BioCleanse has helped so much since I started taking it, along with the ProBio 2 months ago. I did experience a “Herxheimer reaction” (toxin die off) the first week or two, but since then it’s been great. I have IBS-C and haven’t had any episodes in the time I’ve been taking the BioCleanse. I’m overall very happy with the product.

I was very skeptical prior to trying Bio Cleanse (also the ProBio). At first I was bloated and had gas but it stopped after a week. Important to drink a lot of water. It has been a month now and my BM are more regular. Suffering with IBS/ constipation can be miserable at times. I also feel “good” and have more energy/alertness. Since I also started using a collagen supplement about a week after starting the Bio Cleanse, I am not sure which one is making me feel so good but I am sticking with it. I have not lost any weight but I did not start taking it for that reason so it doesn’t matter to me.

I use bio cleanse and I love it. The side effect of lose stools is caused by the magnesium in it. Taking 2 pills will have that effect. It can also cause the stomach upset. I have to take magnesium for my heart because it helps strengthen my muscles. I also have migrantes which the magnesium in the bio cleanse stops the migraine . Not all magnesium is the same and not absorbed by the body but for me bio cleanse is absorbed.

You shouldn’t be taking these at the same time. Probably why you’re having side effects. Bio cleanse should be taken mid morning and mid afternoon. Pro bio should be taken before bed. I have never taken them at the same time and never had a side effect. Been on them for 2+ years. My consultant specifically warned me not to take them too close together bc it could cause side effects.

For a year before trying this I was eating and drinking a 75% raw vegan diet( dealing with some serious health problems) and was SO MUCH better off health and feeling wise then in the past three months. I do know a few people who these products work for but for me and a few others who I have heard say the same as what I have been dealing with they DON’T. Save your money and just for goodness sakes eat CLEAN, your body will thank you for it.

I started taking in March and have tried all kinds of combo of taking it it didn’t help me it seemed to make me feel bad and have nasuea, stomach pains, feel bloated and the noises my stomach makes were terrible. I have been afraid to leave my house it seemed to make me have that sense of needing get to go but can’t then all of a sudden I have to go right then or else . I stopped two days ago and I already feel better. Still drinking the pink slim but will probably stop that also its just too expensive for a retired fixed income lady .

  • Its not a diet product !

First of all, BioCleanse is not a diet product. It is only meant to help with better gut health.

Amen!!! I’ve been a plexus ambassador for a little over a year now … Im a plant based vegan and was for 7 months before trying plexus I use what we call the Triplex combo, slim Bio Cleanse and ProBio5 I feel better than I have in years
All my menopause symptoms are gone and so is all the inflammation from my body … we are not a diet company and these are not magic pills
I’m sure you can find negative information about any product on the market… If you have a good ambassador they will help you figure out what products are best for you and how to use them as we are all different ????

I’ve been taking Biocleanse and ProBio5 for 3 years now. I weighed 170 when I started taking them, lost 55 pounds and have maintained 115 for 2.5 years now. I experienced the diarrhea in the beginning but my ambassador helped me adjust the biocleanse to lessen the discomfort. It’s just a matter of sticking with it and getting through the initial negative side effects. This has been a gamechanger for me! 🙂

I felt great before just wanted a little boost on weight lose after my baby a year ago. It’s been a week since it all started and haven’t touched the stuff since the first time and I’m still ill. Doctor appt. In the a.m to see if I can get some help. My ambassador told me it was candida. ..but the worst she’s ever heard of…sounds like a lot people are have the same effects.

I take strong prescription pain medicines and the side affect is terrible constipation. I have taken stool softners and eaten prunes trying to help it and then I started taking Bio Cleanse. I started taking 2 in the morning and 2 at night until I had to run to the bathroom, then went to just 2 in the morning. It has kept me regulated like nothing else has been able to do. I had to take laxitives often also but still got locked up every couple months and had to use enemas and suppositors to help break it loose. Taking 2 Bio Cleanse every morning and drinking water has kept things regulated completely. I can’t say enough about how it’s helped me and I do recommend it to anyone with chronic constipation problems.

I agree! It has helped my tremendously with my ibsc. I’ve been on it for four years now. I’m wondering if it is okay to use long term like this? All I know is that I was so constipated all of the time until I started this . It’s been a godsend.

Not sure how long ago you posted this, but I have to question whether or not you were getting advice from an ambassador plexus? Were you only taking the bio cleanse? Diarrhea should never be as serious as you’re claiming yours to be. Were you drinking plenty of water? Recommended water intake is half your bodyweight in ounces. Mmm mmm

Several years ago, I showed the product to my doctor, He looked at the magnesium and said, ” Oh wow, that would make you go, that is a lot of magnesium!” My cardiologist told me not to take more than 250 mg a day. Bio Cleanse gave me diarrhea as well. My husband cannot take it because of the grapefruit, which is not listed in all materials. We were ambassadors one time.

I drink over a gallon of water a day and I cannot leave my home because of the diarrhea. No matter what I eat it comes back out in less than 10 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Told is that it’s normal. This is not normal. I can’t leave my house and am in the bathroom everyone 10 mins. I can’t sleep, eat or do anything. I might have to go to the walk in for iv fluids.
