Product Details

The Body Solid EXM 1500S is, as stated above, a home gym. With a 160 lb. weight stack centered in the gym, you simply change out the pin for how much weight you wish to lift on each separate exercise. The EXM 1500S has the following available exercises on the equipment itself:

A lat pull down bar/High Pulley Station, Ab Crunch/Mid Pulley Station, Leg Curl Station/ Leg Extension, Chest Press Station, and a Seated Row/Low Pulley Station. Each station works a different section of the body.

Advantages

  • You don’t have to mess around with a gym membership to get a machine that can give you the same exercises.
  • For the amount of equipment normally needed for all these exercises, it’s conveniently sized.
  • There is an emphasis on personal responsibility for your fitness goals.
  • Disadvantages

  • It’s bulky, even with its relatively compact size….you should probably have a room set aside for it.
  • While a gym membership can be costly, it’s sometimes easier to pay over time, which is what a gym membership usually allows. This is an upfront cost of $1195.00 just for the machine. This does not include taxes or delivery.
  • It looks as if you cannot just order online. You must contact someone with your personal information for a quote call. This can be tedious if you don’t want to be “sold” something such as all the extras that are offered or be “talked into” something pricier than you were originally prepared to pay.
  • Conclusion

There are some advantages to working out at home. You get the privacy you crave, no monthly membership fees, and no having to get ready to work out. Of course, the price can be a quick turn off unless you have about $2000 sitting around waiting to be put to good use on gym equipment. This is a heavy investment for the novice or irregular gym go-er and should be carefully considered before purchasing. The website does offer a lifetime guarantee on all its products and pieces so it seems that while you’ve broke the bank once, at least you won’t be doing it again and again to fix anything. The bottom line is there aren’t any short cuts to using a home gym. In order to get results, you’ve got to pump some iron. Getting fancy gym equipment might be a great motivator, but make sure it doesn’t end up becoming an expensive laundry rack for clothes you don’t end up putting away.

      “Can’t just order online”

I beg to differ. I ordered mine via Amazon, totally online. I’m in the process of setting it up right now.
