What You Should Know
When a dieter looks to spend $1,200 on a home gym, what should they receive? At a minimum, multiple stations designed to work every muscle group as well as a cardiovascular station. Additional features should include multiple weight stacks, lifetime warranty and upgrades. Body Solid is the manufacture of such products. The G-series is the top of the line home gym touted as best in class by industry experts.
One of the “starter” models is the Body Solid G1S. This home gym is available on the official website and offers information to a dieter new to weight training. What we found is not all information is what it seems. Flashy pictures and fit physiques do not make a product.
List of Ingredients
Home gym featuring multiple exercise stations.
The Body Solid G1S is a home gym that features multiple stations and a 160 lb. weight stack. The exercises offered on the machine include chest press, lat pull down, seated row, leg curl/extension and abdominal crunch. The only upgrades we found were accessories. The weight stack is standard and does not upgrade.
A home gym should live up to the name and fit into the home. We found the space saving design is a positive. Individuals only need approximately 5 feet by 6 feet to effectively use the product.
We found the price of the Body Solid G1S a bit excessive. At $1,200, we expected the Body Solid G1S to offer several stations designed for multiple users, varying weight stacks, cardiovascular stations and more. Unfortunately, the product does not deliver. A dieter easily could invest in a health club membership and achieve results that the Body Solid G1S surely will not deliver.
- Lifetime warranty.
- Space saver design.
- No available upgrades.
- 160 lb. weight stack.
- Seat does not adjust.
- No cardiovascular station.
- Upgrades cost additional money.
- No comprehensive diet or exercise guide.
- No weight recommendations.
The Body Solid G1S is essentially the most basic home gym we have seen in a long time. The only thing we found positive about the product is the lifetime warranty. When a company offers a product at a whopping $1,200, we expect more and the Body Solid G1S does not deliver.
The weight stack is great for beginners, but as a dieter increases strength, the machine will be obsolete. A dieter looking to lose weight has a regimen in place consisting of proper diet, exercise and supplementation. The Body Solid G1S only fulfills one factor. We could not find a diet plan or an exercise plan. In essence, Body Solid wants the dieter to do everything themselves without guidance from a world renowned sports equipment company.
