Burn 60 Review - Does This Diet Supplement Actually Work? Are no weight-loss results and user complaints deal breakers?

Editor's Review: 2.8 / 5.0

gnc-total-lean-burn-60-product-imageWhy are people talking about Burn 60? We wanted to know, so this is why we conducted some research and created a detailed review, examining the side effects, ingredients, customer service and clinical studies. Furthermore, we scrutinized hundreds of dieter comments from all over the web. Lastly, we compacted and refined to give you the information you need.

EDITOR'S TIP: Substitute Burn 60 with a proven fat burner such as Leptigen for better results.

What You Need To Know

First, Burn 60 is part of the Total Lean range of supplements. The ingredients used in Burn 60 are dill weed extract, MegaNatural Gold grape seed, ginger root, MegaNatural grape skin and seed, black tea leaves Extract and guarana seed.  It should be taken aw two tablets 30-60 minutes prior to breakfast or exercise. According to GNC, this formula helps boost energy levels, elevate the metabolism and increase calorie-burning by up to 60 percent.

Burn 60 has been available since 2009 and it is sold on the official GNC website for $36.99 (60 tablets). Also, this product is backed by some customer testimonials and there is a return policy provided on the website, but read on…

No Weight-Loss – “A Real Problem?”

The first problem we had with Burn 60 ingredients was that dieters frequently complained of not losing any weight. “There’s only one thing a user is looking for when they try out a new product – effectiveness,” says our Research Editor. “If they see no changes on the scale, why should they keep up what they’re doing?”

One customer commented, “Used the product for 2 months with no noticeable differences.”

“This product did not work for me. I did not lose any weight on it,” said another user.

Customer Complaints – “Not Good!”

There are a lot of user complaints posted on the GNC website, as well as dealer websites like Amazon. One customer stated, “Gave me terrible headaches, racing heart, light headedness, and nausea.”

Another revealed, “I took this one time and it made me SUPER SICK. Maybe it was just me but I threw them out immediately.”

After doing ample research, we have discovered that if a certain part of a program or weight-loss pill is very bothersome (unproven ingredients, bad taste, customer complaints) the chances of real fat loss for the long term are minimal. If Burn 60 does left dieters wanting for more, this could prove to be problematic.

The Science – “Proven Effective?”

Although “clinical research” is mentioned for Burn 60 on the official GNC website, nothing is really explained or elaborated on. We have to give the company some credit as black tea and guarana both supply caffeine, which has been tested and proven. The problem is that stimulants like this are found in thousands of formulas. Since we at DietSpotlight need to see documentation of real science concerning the product and its ingredients, we are skeptical about getting behind Burn 60 as an effective weight-loss solution.

The Bottom Line – Does Burn 60 Work?

Hey – are we speeding out to buy up all of these pills? GNC is certainly a company that has stood the test of time. However, a few things caught our attention with Burn 60 tablets. Not only do dieters report no results, but it has also racked up a lot of customer complaints online. There are more promising weight-loss products to consider.

Those who want to slim down and shed serious fat, we advise you to choose a weight-loss supplement that is backed by clinical trial results, does not lead to adverse effects and has customer support standing behind it.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2015 is one called Leptigen. This supplement contains four unique ingredients that have been proven in published scientific studies to help ignite metabolism and improve fat loss. We have not seen any talk of unpleasant side effects and dieter feedback posted on the web shows people are seeing significant results.

Also, the makers of Leptigen are so confident in their product they’re offering a special trial offer, which is a good sign.

GNC's Burn 60 is marketed as a thermogenic formula that helps to raise metabolism, burn calories and boost energy levels. For best results, Burn 60 should be used with the healthy diet and exercise program included a part of the product package. Burn 60's ingredients increase post-workout calorie burning by up to 60 percent, making your exercise more efficient, according to the manufacturer.

Guarana Seed Extract, Black Tea Leaves Extract, Grape Skin and Seed Extract, Ginger Root Extract, Dill Weed Extract, Cellulose, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Cinnamon bark extract, FD&C Yellow 6 Lake, Dextrose, Titanium Dioxide and FD&C Red #40 Lake.

Product Features

Burn 60 is one of the weight loss products sold by GNC, a nationwide retail vitamin and supplement chain.  The marketing materials for Burn 60 always refer to the product leading to "additional calorie burning" during and after workouts, so it is safe to assume that it has little effect as a weight loss product without the inclusion of some type of exercise. Burn 60 is in the Thermogenic category on the GNC website, which means that it is supposed to work by increasing metabolism and causing the body to burn fat. Thermogenic products have been shown to be effective in weight loss. However, with the exception of mega doses of the  ingredient guarana seed extract, combined with the caffeine in black tea, there don't seem to be any ingredients which would boost the metabolism, and it is questionable as to how safe using such a large dose of stimulants might be. In online reviews some users reported sweating more during and after exercise, so any weight loss achieved could be due to water weight lost from so much perspiration. Besides these stimulants, Burn 60 also contains several products thought to have an effect in calming the stomach and warding off headaches-two conditions that can occur with the ingestion of too much caffeine. Burn 60 is available on the GNC website for $29.99 (60 tablets) plus shipping and handling.

  • Burn 60 is made by a well known supplement manufacturer and distributor.
  • Burn 60 comes with a healthy diet guide and exercise program.

  • The main ingredient in Burn 60 is a strong stimulant.
  • There are very mixed customer reviews for Burn 60 on the Internet.
  • Burn 60 does not offer sample trials, and no money back guarantee is in evidence on the official website.

Burn 60 is one of many products that claim to increase calorie burning potential.  The ingredient that promotes this is a powerful stimulant.  While this approach could in fact work, it is probably not the safest way to go about losing weight. Many people experience headaches, nausea and tremors from ingesting too much caffeine, and in some case it can cause serious reactions.  Many online reviewers confirmed that they experienced some of these serious symptoms.  There are thermogenic products on the market, without the large doses of caffeine, which have research to back up their safety and effectiveness. Dieters should seek out weight loss supplements with safer ingredients and clinical research to support their manufacturers' claims.
