Caveman Diet Review

What You Should Know

The Caveman Diet, also known as the elimination diet, was created by Dr. Elmer M. Cranton. The program of most readily focuses on food allergies and the best way to find out which foods you were allergic to buy a limb in aiding certain foods from the diet. There is an official website for the elimination diet, referring to this diet also by the name of Caveman Diet. On the website, the viewer can find all the information they need to follow the plan step by step without paying for a diet book or diet subscription. The information on the Caveman Diet is also available for download as a PDF file.

The Caveman Diet.

Product Features

According to the information on the Cranton web site, food allergies lead to stress on the immune system and overall reduction in body health. The Caveman Diet can be used to diagnose food allergies by following the strict diet for least a month or to eliminate or reduce stress on the immune system. There is no information about weight loss associated with the use of the Caveman Diet.

Upon a closer look at the specific guidelines of the Caveman Diet, it appears that this diet is based upon the general rules of a low carbohydrate diet. The allowed foods on the diet include meats and seafood. However, beef, chicken, pork, farm grown fish and shrimp, processed meats and sausage are just a few of the meats that are not allowed on the diet. Other foods that are not allowed include corn, potato, tomato, peas, beans, apples, citrus fruits and fruit juice.

There is no cost associated with the Caveman Diet, because the entire elimination diet is posted online the Dr. Cranton’s website.

Advantages

  • Low carbohydrate diets tend to result in weight loss.
  • The Caveman Diet is free and available for download.

Disadvantages

  • The weight loss program is strict and may be hard to follow.
  • There are no testimonials on the website.
  • The guidelines are very strict and the food lists disallow many foods.
  • The diet may be hard to follow for many people.

Conclusion

When trying to lose weight, the Caveman Diet may seem like a good choice. The diet, however, is very strict and may be very hard to follow for many people. There is an extensive list of foods that are not allowed on the Caveman Diet and foods that should be avoided. The food list resembles a stricter version of the Atkins Diet or the South Beach Diet.

The Caveman Diet does not support the use of any products not readily available in nature. This leaves out some of the best supplement choices for boosting metabolism and fat burning. At this time, we cannot support products that restrict the dieter to a small list of foods and do not allow supplementation.

I’m trying to follow a modified Caveman diet but am finding it hard to stick with. I’ve lost too much weight and have developed many food allergies. My reason for trying it to begin with was because of an MS diagnosis, not a desire to lose weight. I may have aggravated adrenal fatigue in the process.
