Deepak Chopra, M.D. is an endocrinologist and Ayurvedic practitioner, author and lecturer of spirituality and alternative medicine. He immigrated from India following medical school and finished his training in the US. He was a practicing endocrinologist until 1985 when he left his position at New England Memorial Hospital and became the founding president of the American Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. He cofounded the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in La Jolla, CA in 1996. It is now located at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA. He is author of 35 books and over 100 audio, video and CD-ROMs, translated into dozens of languages.
