Dexyfen is a supplement produced and marketed by GNC, or General Nutrition Company. It is an appetite suppressant and metabolic stimulator so you will also burn more fat. If you are looking for a fat burner and appetite suppressant combination supplement to help you reach your weight loss goals, read this review to learn more about the product and how it works.

List of Ingredients

Dexyfen contains the following ingredients:

  • Caffeine (as caffeine anhydrous)
  • Pausinystalia yohimbe (bark)
  • Oryza sativa (seed)
  • Mentha haplocalyx (leaf)
  • Zanthoxylum piperitum (fruit)

Product Features

Dexyfen contains several different ingredients, but they are all natural. Caffeine anhydrous is a form of caffeine that has been dehydrated for a stronger concentration. Yohimbe bark is used as a sexual enhancer, but it is also a stimulant that can help increase the metabolism. Oryza sativa is a type of rice, rich in antioxidants that can help combat against disease, as well as healthy fatty acids that can help transport fat from the body. Mentha haplocalyx leaf is a member of the mint family with several medicinal uses, but in the case of this formula, it is used for its diuretic properties, to help flush excess water from the body. Zanthoxylum piperitum is a natural herb, traditionally used to treat stomach pain, but in the case of this supplement, is designed to help promote healthy digestion.

Advantages

  • Dexyfen is an all natural formula.
  • This product has several positive reviews from customers.

Disadvantages

  • Dexyfen contains more than one stimulant, so those who are sensitive may want to avoid taking the product within several hours of bedtime. It can disrupt sleep cycles, cause headaches, jitters, and irritability.
  • Diuretics pull water from the body, which may lead to dehydration. Water weight loss is temporary and though it will produce results on the scale, will not be like fat loss.
  • This product is not recommended to use for more than 8 consecutive weeks without a break in between.
  • There are no free trials of this supplement.
  • This supplement is $57 for a monthly supply, which makes it expensive for a lot of people.

Conclusion

Dexyfen claims to be an appetite suppressant, but we do not see anything in the formula that acts an appetite suppressant. There are several different stimulants in the formula that will help with burning fat. However, without the balanced diet and regular exercise program, the supplement will not do much work. No supplement will do all the work for you. It is plausible you will see weight loss results with this product, but after a full 8 week cycle, you may not be able to keep the weight off while you are on your off cycle.

I’ve drank coffee since I was 5 so it doesn’t really effect me anymore so I didn’t feel any crazy jitters or horrible crashes. What did scare the living hell out of me was the burning sensation and the redness because I thought I was having a severe allergic reaction but I went running anyways and felt great afterwards. It did curve my appetite but I forced myself to eat a little because anorexia already slowed down my metabolism way too much and I don’t want to just gain weight after I stop taking it and let my metabolism slow down. So far so good though. Even though I accidentally took 2 of the D.I.E.T pills at the same time on accident :/! I’m anxious to see weight loss!

First morning taking the product and I should have read up on it so I wouldn’t have felt the need to call 911 on myself, I thought I was going to end up passing out because I couldn’t find a pulse on myself, blood was rushing to all my joints and my face and neck. after the paramedics left I’ve taken a bit to read and everyone else has had the same side affects. So the near death feeling is normal.. Try taking all the pills spread out during the day if you aren’t used to the caffeine rush, because it scared the hell out of me. Drink lots of water, and eat something before you take them.

I’m an athletic 19 year old, using Dexfen for the first time. As instructed, i took the thermogenic on an empty stomach, went for a run (due to that boost of energy) , and ate a small meal afterwards.. Only take the thermogenic BEFORE 2pm and I also have the DIET combo, which i take after eating a meal -earliest to take this pill is 6pm (instructed by GNC employee). I’m not used to taking caffeine or having high amounts of energy, so when i felt the energy come in, I got a bit nervous, and started to shake. I also felt a slight headache. Just stay calm and control your breathing. Last effect it had on me was a little burning sensation i felt in my chest- while running. Drink plenty of water and DON’T freak out when you start to feel side effects. When i started to freak out, i realized i started to get nauseous and when i calmed down, it went away. Sometimes it’s all in your head. Overall, I had a pretty good first time experience. Energy went away after 2-3 hours. I didn’t feel like crashing. Just be smart about using the pill, and use it right. DO RESEARCH. (i know i did, and i asked lots of questions at GNC)

The first day I used dexyfen my face turned really red and felt hot. I don’t get those anymore after taking it on an empty stomach with 24oz of water and working out 20 min after taking. I used to take oxyelite, so I was excited to find this and it is working just us good.
I hope this will help others experiencing the red rash/ burning sensation.

I took this for the first time today. I found out OxyElite Pro was banned again and the GNC rep recommended these. I bought first and then read about it. I am a little concerned because I have a pre-existing seizure problem (not bad)but still something to consider. I did get some gnarly burning and turned red but it only lasted about 30 minutes. I knew it was the niacin so I wasn’t too alarmed. I feel pretty good, no upset stomach or anything. I’m used to caffeine so I don’t anticipate headaches. My lips are still a little tingly and it’s been about 2 hrs since I took it. I’m sure it will pass. I’ll post in about another week with a better update.

Today was my first day of taking Dexyfen and I have to say, I’ve had a pretty decent experience whilst on this pill. I took the stimulant AND the D.I.E.T. pill this morning, and waited 30 minutes to make a protein shake. I wasn’t nauseous, but was extremely energized and literally could NOT stand still. Which was good, because over the past few weeks I’ve been quite tired due to laziness (oopsies) I didn’t have a crazy, scary reaction to the niacin in the product, as many of you might’ve. And that was my biggest fear, after reading lots of negative reviews particularly aimed at the niacin in the pill. I will say that if I did have a random itch somewhere, and I’d scratch it; wherever I scratched burned a little bit. But nothing turned hivey, swollen, or red on my body. The trick on these pills, as well as any other diet pill, is to DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Stay so hydrated that you’re going pee at least 10 times a day. Or maybe less. Maybe even more. Idk. Drink, drink, drink. Water not only helps while on a diet in a general; but it’s also crucial for your kidneys, since they are workin’ overtime while on these pills. Other than that, good luck all & remember to STAY HYDRATED.

I have taken a few different types of diet pills, fat burners, etc… over the past few years and have never had anything happen as bad as what Dexyfen did. This is by far the worst. I took 1 pill as directed and was getting ready to go for a run, but within 30 minutes of taking it I had to call the paramedics because I felt like I was going to pass out. I was as red as a tomato and my skin was so swollen that I could barely move my face, arms, and hands. It took over 6 hours for me to feel well enough to get up and move around. This was a very scary experience.

My first time taking dexyfen made me feel like most of you. But after a while I felt a little better. The only thing I really hate about this product is the burning feeling. But I’ve only taken four pills and I’ve lost 10 pounds in two weeks, which is good because I have been trying to lose weight for a while now. I have not exercised, I just drink plenty of water. I do not eat much because it curves my appetite.

Today was my first and last day taking this pill!!!! As soon as I took it this morning, on an empty stomach, I felt an energy rush. Half hour later the energy got even more intense and with a bit of jitters. Two hours into it…the symptoms were uncontrollable I was vomiting, diarrhea, headache I was completely shaking I couldn’t control it! I ended up going home from work… It is now 11 hours later and I feel numb and a headache. Worst pill ever!!! Do not recommend it. Do it the natural way watch what you eat and excersice… Horrible I feel like crap!!

I’m pretty sure you should take this when you are about to workout. Why would you take it and go to work? Do you work at a job where you just sit down all day? That could be a reason you didn’t feel well…

Agreed. If you dont plan on exercising soon after taking dexyfen you should not take it at all. Especially not before you go to work. Thats just dumb. I started taking this a month ago before I go to the gym and have loved the energy surge I get while working out. I admit im not crazy about the crash that inevitably follows when ever you take high doses of caffine but I have noticed a signifigant physical difference and it has really helped me push myself harder at the gym. I cant say its for everyone but so far I am happy with the results.

I tried this combo this morning for the first time. I took the pills on an empty stomach as directed with lots of water and ate a small meal after. I felt the energy come. on slowly but by the time I got to work I thought I was going to die. I had too much uncomfortable and intense energy that made me nauseous. I couldn’t see straight and felt like I was on powerful speed. I went to the bathroom and forced myself to vomit. I had to leave work because I was so nauseous and have been in bed all afternoon. my stomach is turned upside down and I feel like I’ve got the worst hangover. I’m so mad at myself for taking these pills and doing this to my body. I am taking them back as soon as I can walk again. OMG what a scary experience! I do not recommend to my worst enemy!

Been taking this for just over two weeks. I’ve been running for 8 months. 6 days of the week I get up early and run 2-3 miles every morning…in the past just running a few days of week would make me drop weight quickly but I guess in my late thirties it isn’t working for me that easily anymore. So two months ago I bought one of those sweat band or belts to wear and added a few sets of push ups and sit ups after the run when my heart slowed down a bit…still didn’t make me lose..so I went to GNC and told them my issue being I’ve been in the Army for 19 years, don’t really eat much for breakfast or lunch, exercise and can’t lose weight. The guy working there was ex army (so yeah I trusted him a bit more) and recomended two products but told me this was as good as the more expensive one and I only had to take one pill a day opposed to two. So starting the next I woke up and took one right off the bat..about ten minutes later I went running…he told me I was going to sweat a lot more..he wasn’t kidding. I am avoiding the scale thing until my next weigh in at my unit but I can tell you that my stomach is looking noticeable better already. The only side effects I had were the first few days I felt like I was overheating (and it did scare me for a moment or two the first day) but since then the only effect I can say is I definitely sweat more during my runs but I figure this is a good thing. My only worry right now after reading the above is if it is only taking away water weight and the whole needing to take a break after 8 weeks.

The doses of niacin and caffeine in this product made me leery about taking with just water on an empty stomach. If you aren’t a caffeine junkie you might want to at least have a fruit first. I take it first thing in the morning with a protein shake. As a nurse working 12-13 hour shifts sometimes I get to drink water sometimes I don’t, the days that I don’t drink as much water I feel more symptomatic like my stomach is eating itself literally. I haven’t been taking it consistently but will complete the bottle and give a thorough review when I do.

This is not a miracle diet pill nor anything over counter can be. If it was this country wouldn’t be full of fat people. With that said I am trying to shave the last 8-10 pounds off and need a supplement to get me there. I workout 6 times a week with a combo of cardio and weightlifting. I know one bottle isn’t going to get me there but this so far has given a bit of a boost of energy. I take it at 5am in the morning before a run, no coffee during the day and again at 1:30pm. Yes, twice a day! However I cut out redbull and other energy drinks laced with sugar, caffeine and carbs and within 3 weeks have lost two pounds. I have always drank coffee and energy drinks so cutting those and replacing was pretty easy for me. I have had no side effects other than increased energy. I also take a cutting agent every other week to keep the water retention down as the ingredients in this have the potential to make you retain water. Other than that I will say it again, if you are looking for a miracle weight loss pill this or anything on the market isn’t for you. See a doctor and consider gastric bypass if you are that overweight. Good luck to all those properly using this!

I’ve been using this product for about a week now. I immediately felt a boost in energy that lasted pretty much all day. Never got jittery, never got red, never got sick. I do notice that I sweat a bit more when working out but that’s probably the thermogenic effects. The caffeine really shouldn’t be a problem unless you are sensitive already or aren’t used to it. I was drinking at least 2 cups every morning anyway so this wasn’t much more. Anyone who has had a severe reaction to this is unique. Everyone is different and react to things differently. Try it, if you don’t like it then stop taking it. Doesn’t mean everyone else will be in the hospital having “convulsions” and “anxiety”.

I started taking the Dexyfen/DIET combo today. No jitters, headaches, rash, etc. Felt very energetic and overly happy. Could not stay seated at work. Kept walking to talk to people instead of IM’ing or emailing since I had so much energy so I think that added movement will aid with my weight loss plan in combination with running on my treadmill every day and a healthy diet. Took my pill on an empty stomach and 8oz glass of water but followed it right away with an 8oz protein shake recommended by the GNC rep. No sick stomach feelings. When lunch came around I ate my healthy home packed lunch even though I was not hungry. Going home to make a healthy dinner even though I’m not hungry. So far I’m liking it. Just waiting to see if I am too hyped up to sleep. If not then I will be pleased…..at from day 1. Will see what the weight loss looks like in a week. Going to give it an honest 30 days and then make a determination if this is going to work for my long term goal or if I need to try something different.

Dexyfen is a good product in my opinion if your trying to lose weight…for me the pros give me energy to work out, it completely takes away my appetite up to 3 hrs,it works similar to a mild laxative, and it puts me in a good mood…the cons are when u first take them your stomach may get upset.but u must drink alot of water threw i..they made my stomach upset for like 2 minutes when it started breakung down in my stomach…but it is a strong product and your body has to get used to it…after the 1st day it didnt happen anymore..it is more on the pricey side..thats just how it was for me..its not for everyone but nothing is for everyone….one last thing i got them from gnc in the mall

My son was just admitted for hospitalization after having convulsions and muscle spasms from this that were so overwhelming he could not speak nor control any of his muscles. Furthermore, his heart rate was 177 when they hooked him up to the EKG, the doctor said he had anxiety as well, which made it nearly impossible for him to focus on controlling his breathing. It was horrifying for me as his parent to see him wrangling, deformed and helpless. The reason you people are getting a “rash” is because of the niacin that is one of the main ingredients. Niacin flushes bad toxins out of you and that’s what the red skin comes from. Its not a bad thing your body will get used to this product. Its not a allergic reaction

    [Reply]

Also, make sure you take this on an empty stomach as it suggests. THEN EAT YOUR BREAKFAST (or pre-workout meal) OR YOU WILL GET SICK. Would be the same if you tried to drink a pot of coffee and not eat anything at all for a while. Just because it says to take on an empty stomach doesn’t mean don’t eat at all. Again, common sense. This is not a miracle pill…those don’t exist. This will aid and speed up the fat loss if you work out regularly (3 days a week minimum), stay hydrated, and eat healthy (no or very minimal processed/white foods). If you don’t do the research on Thermogenics, you will make yourself sick and they will not work. You should always do research before taking a “fat burning” supplement. Check the ingredients to be sure there is not something in there you are allergic to. Doing research beforehand can save you time, money and frustration. Just because a few people say they had a bad allergic reaction to it doesn’t mean you will. Most don’t even acknowledge that they are allergic to one or more of the ingredients. They just mention that they broke out in a rash. Also, in regards to body temp rising, that is what Thermogenic supplements do to aid in the fat burning. If your body is cold, it won’t burn. The feelings “go away” or you get used to them. Don’t take it for 1 or 2 days and then write them off or flush them. Everyone is different and your body does need time to adjust. If you take them daily, you should adjust in about 3 days. Just don’t start your workout routine until you have adjusted or you might hurt yourself.

I’ve been taking these pills on and off for a while, the only time I’ve gotten sick on them was when I did as directed and took a pill before eating. Now I eat a meal and wait an hour or two and then take the pill… Sometimes I do feel nauseous taking them but it’s never bad enough to keep me from eating a regular meal. I’ve noticed I do burn fat easier taking these pills, however sometimes they do make me irritable! I think these pills are good as long as you aren’t allergic to them or have any health problems!

I have taken this pill a few times as directed on an empty stomach in the mornings and each time has made me feel like passing out. My body has felt as if I were having hot flashes, dizzy, weak, as well an feeling my stomach irritable (not each time). I just thought that my body was not use to it and had continued to take it, each time I felt just about the same today being the worse out of all of them. I just think this should be tried out first prior to actually purchasing a full bottle since I believe that each person might have a different experience from it. For me, obviously did more harm then good.

I have never tried Dexefen and I came to this site to get input from others. My biggest concerns were the two components of disulfide(a derivative of Sulfur in the form of Thiamin), and caffeine. I work in the medical profession as an LPN, I commonly see Thiamine in the form of mononitrate as oppose to disulfide which may produce sensitivity in persons allergic to sulfa drugs. I am allergic to sulfa drugs. I drink maybe a cup of coffee in the mornings which contains about 200mg of caffeine. I am really nervous about pushing my luck with 550mg. My concern would be if you don’t have a medicine on hand to counteract the negative effects of that much caffeine, you probably should not take it. I am glad that the makers did emphasize the content of caffeine. I did find the answers that I sought and after reading the reactions that some of you experienced, I will not attempt this supplement. Thanks for the information.

I have been taking this product for over two months with no break in between, I have definetly lost weight, I work out 5 days a week , I’m a full time student , and I’m on a slightly strict diet.. I just purchased my third bottle of dexyfen, does anybody think I should stop or keep going?

I would take a break if I were you. Dexyfen is something you use for temorarily speeding up results. Then its up to you to retain the results you gained from it. Taking a thermogenic for too long can and will begin to cause damage to your body. While it is helping you to burn fat youbare also losing lot of crucial nutrients the body needs. Doing this for a short time is not a big deal. The body recovers. But taking it on a what seems like a permanent level, you will start to cause serious damage. I would cool it with the dexyden for a while, keep a regular exercise regiment and make sure your body is grtting the vitamins and nutrients it needs.

This product does contain Thiamin disulfide which is a derrivative of Sulfur. If you are allergic to sulfa drugs, you may have a sensitivity to Dexyfen. This could be responsible for the hives that you experienced after taking it.

It’s the Niacin, it tells you right on the bottle you may turn red, feel tingly and get hot flashes. It’s temporary and should go away after 10 minutes or so.

Run. This product makes jitters look like child’s play, it feels like your heart is about to explode. I am a registered nurse and do not believe this virtually intense increase of BP and heart rate is healthy in any way for your cardiovascular system in any way or form. Bad idea period!

This product is terrifying and I warn ANYONE against using it. I have used other products in the past with high amounts of caffiene and never had any kind of issues as far as sensetivity goes but this product made me, and athletic 20 year old, feel like i was having a heart attack. I spent two hours on the floor in the fetal position and another 30 minutes vommiting after following the product directions to take one capsule on an EMPTY stomach in the morning. I felt ill ALL day afterwards. I can say this much for the product after all the forced vomitting i certainly looked thinner afterwards. I have always had an iron stomach to caffine drinking sometimes six cups of coffee a day. THIS PRODUCT IS AWFUL. NATURAL INGREDIENTS DOES NOT MEAN ITS GOOD FOR YOU PLEASE STAY AWAY
