Cookie and diet are two words that are not normally associated with one another, however, Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet has been successfully putting these words together for the last thirty-five years. Dr. Sanford Siegal is a well known physician and author who created this diet in 1975 when he came to the conclusion that most diets failed because dieters were hungry. He believed if people were given a healthy option to fulfill cravings they would succeed.

The premise behind Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet is that the dieter eats six of these healthy cookies during the day and then has one meal at the end of the day. Essentially, this plan is much like other meal replacement diets. The cookies can also be used in addition to other diet plans as replacement for meals or snacks if the entire Cookie Diet is too restrictive.

List Of Ingredients

Milk, Eggs, Soy, Wheat, and Non-Vegetable Protein

Product Features

Dr Siegal’s Cookie Diet has five cookie flavors; oatmeal raisin, chocolate, banana, coconut, and blueberry. Cookie Diet starter kits include enough cookies for the client to have four cookies a day for a month as well as Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet Book which further explains how to incorporate the cookies into a healthy diet. In addition to the daily allotment of cookies, individuals are encouraged to follow specific guidelines for their evening meal. The cookies have 90 calories each and are made with ingredients that have low ratings on the glycemic index such as oat, wheat flour, and bran. Conclusion

Because Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet has a rigid structure and severely limits caloric intake, it would likely produce quick results in the short term. However, weight loss that occurs that rapidly can lead to health problems and it is nearly impossible to meet all nutritional requirements when calories are so extremely limited. Overall, if immediate weight loss is required and the program will only be used for a short period of time it would be effective. Using it for maintained weight loss, however, is not advisable.
