What You Need To Know

Enzymedica was born in the spring of 1998. Their mission is to offer the public effective enzyme products. Enzymedica products contain the purest therapeutic enzymes available today, these are not your mothers supplements. They have available a line of products including a digestive enzyme, a digestive blend, a carbohydrate and allergen assisting blend, a blood purifier, a fat digestion enhancer and a cardiovascular product. Enzymedica is based in Port Charlotte Florida and its website offers a physical mailing address, international, local and toll free phone numbers, and emails for both technical and general inquiries.

Ingredients

Enzymedica Digest contains protease, lipase, amylase and cellulase enzymes along with invertase, alpha galactisidase, lactase, phytase/pectinase and maltese. Protease, Lipase, Amylase and Cellulase are the four most common plant enzymes. Protease breaks down proteins and supports immune function. Lipase breaks down lipids, supports gallbladder function and improves fat utilization. Amylase breaks down carbohydrates into smaller units. Cellulase breaks down chitin (fiber) and helps release nutrients within fruits and vegetables. Invertase breaks down sucrose carbs; Alpha- Galactosidase helps with digestion of beans and vegetables and breaks down carbohydrates; Lactase breaks down milk sugars and aids in lactose intolerance. Phytase/ pectinase breaks down carbohydrates and pectins and aids in mineral absorption while maltase can breakdown both complex and simple carbohydrates.

Product Features

Enzymedica products contain enzymes. Enzymes are protein molecules found in all living cells. They are responsible for catalyzing and regulating all biochemical reactions in the human body. They aid in the breakdown of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fibers, removing toxins and making it possible to utilize nutrients found within. There are three types of enzymes, two of which our bodies naturally produce. The third must be introduced into the body within what we eat. Metabolic and digestive enzymes are naturally occurring within us and food enzymes must be consumed. Metabolic Enzymes speed the chemical process in the cells that detoxifies and produces energy. Digestive enzymes are secreted by the digestive tract to aid in breakdown of nutrients and elimination of wastes. Food enzymes are introduced with the foods we eat, unfortunately these foods only contain enough enzymes for their own breakdown, leaving nothing behind for the body.

Advantages

  • Enzymedica is 100% vegan and vegetarian, using only plant based enzymes.
  • Enzymedica uses no fillers.
  • This results in concentration and a smaller pill form, that can be used by even those with trouble swallowing.

Disadvantages

  • Since pharmaceutical companies have always placed emphasis on vitamins and minerals, enzyme research is fairly new.
  • This product must be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise program.

Conclusion

Since Enzymedica is testing each batch by an independent third party lab and sponsoring continuing research in the enzyme field, I worry that this product is too new to be a healthy addition to a diet. This product is never said to maintain weight or assist with weight loss.
