What You Should Know
Fat Girl Slim, marketed by Bliss Spa, takes a rather new approach to weight loss. Instead of taking a supplement orally to be absorbed by the body, this product is rubbed onto the skin. The idea is that by firming and toning the skin, one can eliminate the look of cellulite and provide a leaner, meaner look to the body. The product is marketed through the Bliss website and a host of online retailers.
Fat Girl Slim doesn’t really market itself as a weight loss supplement; rather, users can achieve a slimmer appearance through a firmer, more contoured skin tone. While we like the idea of a topical solution to enhance weight loss results, we do not feel that this product will address the health concerns involved with obesity like increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. For this purpose, dieters will have to truly drop the pounds through diet, exercise and an effective weight loss supplement. However, the Bliss website does provide ample information about Fat Girl Slim so that consumers can make educated decisions about their weight loss products.
Ingredients
As listed on the company website, the ingredients in Fat Girl Slim include water (aqua) caprylic/capric triglyceride, caffeine, PEG-12 glyceryl distearate, cyclomethicone, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, sodium benzoate, butylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, bupleurumfalcatum root extract, coenzyme A, dimethicone, PEG-8, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, triethanolamine, imidazolidinyl urea, phenoxyethanol, methlychoroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone
Product Features
Bliss also states that the ingredient highlights include “caffeine encapsulated in QuSomes”, which is supposed to help the caffeine absorb into the skin more effectively for better results. This may sound good on the surface, but we are seriously skeptical about just how much positive effect this product may have on slimming the body or even reducing cellulite. And without a proven fat burner or appetite suppressant, weight loss seems out of the question.
At the time of this review, a 6 oz. container of Fat Girl Slim costs about $29 on the Bliss website. Bliss does appear to offer a 30-day refund policy on all purchases.
Advantages
- The product contains caffeine.
- Bliss does offer a refund policy on purchases.
Disadvantages
- A topical solution will probably not be effective in weight loss.
- The product doesn’t contain any proven weight loss ingredients.
- There is no clinical research to back up the claims of this product.
Conclusion
We have serious doubts about the effectiveness of a topical solution in assisting the consumer with weight loss needs. If consumers are serious about dropping extra pounds, it is far better to look for oral solutions that will pack a powerful punch of proven appetite suppressant and fat burner for best results. Without any proven ingredients or clinical research to back up the claims made by Fat Girl Slim, we believe consumers would be better off shopping for their weight loss products elsewhere.
