What You Should Know
Fibo-Trim is a multi-nutrient fiber supplement manufactured by Advocare. It attempts to use fibers to remove fat from the gastrointestinal tract. There are some medical studies suggesting these fibers can reduce our fat intake.
List of Ingredients
Chitosan, psyllium husk powder, guar gum, xanthan gum, garlic powder, beta-sitosterol, and Taurine.
The fibers featured in this product are chitosan (from shellfish), guar gum, xantham, and psyllium. They bind to consumed fat and quickly move it out of your system. Chitosan is the most popular “fat attractor” in this formula and is often found in health food stores. We are not sure if it is 100% true that this fiber can expand in the stomach and absorb a significant amount of fat lipids and cholesterol. However, compared to many other ingredients in the diet market, this one has an abundance of clinical studies to support its claims.
- Includes vitamins c, e, and niacin.
- Affordable: $40 for 180 capsules taken once before each meal.
- Cannot be taken if you are allergic to shellfish or do not eat shellfish for religious reasons.
- Lacks a significant amount of clinical studies behind its claims.
- Produces no thermogenic effect.
If this product does not promote thermogenesis in the body which means that no fat is burned. Some studies suggest cristosan has the potential to take out 10 calories from fat in each meal. Some studies suggest that the process of fibers being “attractors” can also take out essential nutrients from food, making a healthy diet harder to maintain.
