Fitworks Review

What You Should Know

Fitworks is a chain of fitness clubs throughout Ohio and Kentucky that strive to make fitness as fun as it is beneficial. Each location provides a host of exercise classes and opportunities that are geared to all ages and fitness levels. This company got its start in 1996 and claims to employ more than 300 staff members with over 40 years of experience. All employees of Fitworks are supposedly committed to one thing – the success of their clients in reaching their fitness goals. The company has a central website that provides information about the company, including the specific locations, programs and special offers.

The Fitworks website is easy to navigate and provides ample information about the centers. Consumers can read customer testimonials and “shop” through the wide variety of programs that are included. The website also includes prices for memberships, which are currently available through a number of different specials. Members can also host private parties for a group that are perfect for birthdays, bridal showers, corporate team building or guys/girls nights out.

Product Features

Fitworks appears to be a fairly typical fitness center that offers a variety of group classes and personal training. The company also offers an exclusive PST program that is supposedly designed to “transform your body in three easy steps.” The cardio cinema rooms feature 15′ screens to watch television or movies during your workouts. The group power classes provide 60 minutes of serious weight training while the interactive arcade offers a number of video games designed to get you up and moving. The arcade is available to club members and non-members alike, but it is not found at all Fitworks locations.

The current membership special offers customers the opportunity to enroll in Fitworks for one dollar and maintain a membership for just $20 a month. This price is fairly reasonable for a gym membership, although the website did not specify whether there was a minimum amount of months that must be purchased to qualify for the deal. The company is also offering a free 21-day trial offer to allow customers the chance to try out the facility before committing to a full membership.

Advantages

  • Fitworks offers exercise opportunities in a fun group environment.
  • The monthly fee is reasonable and a free trial membership is available.

Disadvantages

  • The clubs are only located in a limited number of locations.
  • Joining a health club and committing to a daily workout are often two different things.
  • The program does not include nutrition education.

Conclusion

Membership to a health club is a positive step on the road to weight loss and better health. If you live in the vicinity of a Fitworks facility, this may be a good choice for your fitness needs. However, joining and committing to the daily program are often two different things. We recommend including a low calorie diet and proven weight loss supplement with your gym membership to maximize the weight loss benefits of your new fitness program.

I joined Fitworks in Newport, Kentucky. Less than one week after I joined they canceled all their morning classes. I have tried contacting Fitworks and have been given the run around, told to cal different numbers and ultimately been told their is no possible way to get any kind of refund. I was charged more than they had written on my statement. I was extremely disappointed with the fitness centers costumer services and honest. I would never recommend anyone join this fitness center.
