Fo-Ti is an ancient Chinese root used to promote longevity and fertility. According to Chinese folk lore, a man suffering from infertility used fo-ti root and regained his ability to father children. At the age of 50, his grey hair also turned to its original black color. While this may be a story, Chinese medicine still uses the fo-ti root to this day to treat many illnesses and ailments.

There are two types of fo-ti root – white and red. White fo-ti root is left unprocessed and natural. When the fo-ti root is processed it takes on a red color thus the name red fo-ti. It is claimed that the red fo-ti root is stronger than white fo-ti.
In addition to the claims of improved fertility and longevity, the fo-ti root may help reduce blood glucose levels and cholesterol levels. There is some support for the use of fo-ti root to prevent arteriosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. This could decrease the risk of stroke or heart attack.
In looking for a connection between fo-ti root and weight loss we did find that the root may help fight constipation. Constipation can be a problem for dieters if they are not consuming enough fresh fruits and vegetables, water or both. However, laxative use for weight loss is considered dangerous as laxatives may prevent the body from moving waste naturally without the laxative. Basically, the muscles of the intestine get lazy and stop working properly.
Another potential connection with weight loss or supplementation is the fact that the fo-ti root is used as a libido booster. Many bodybuilding supplements use libido enhancers as part of a prohormone complex. This is not a use that is supported by clinical trials, but one that continues to be practiced none-the-less.

Fo-ti root has been around for thousands of years and will probably be around for a thousand more. We support using proven ingredients like green tea with scores of clinical data to back up metabolism and weight loss claims.
