Fruta Vida (“fruit of life” in Spanish) is a product of the Brazilian rainforest. Anthony Shaw is the founder and CEO of Pro Image International, the company responsible for distributing Fruta Vida. Fruta Vida is one of many products distributed by Pro Image.

Fruta Vida is an antioxidant juice that contains three “superfoods”: Acai, Cupuacu, and Yerba Mate. It also contains Brazilian apples. These ingredients supply numerous antioxidants, thereby reducing free radical damage. Antioxidants are also reported to reduce premature aging and prevent cardiovascular disease and some cancers. There are supposedly sixty-five antioxidants per serving of Fruta Vida.

List of Ingredients

Ultra filtrated water, Amazon Juice Blend (acai, cupuacu, and apple juice concentrates), Yerba Mate tea, Potassium sorbate, natural flavors, Sodium benzoate, Malic acid.

Product Features

There is a membership package available from the Fruta Vida official website. It includes the Fruta Vida juice and a sample of the company’s other products. $34.95 will give you a one-month supply. The Premium Membership package currently costs $159.95. Single 30-ounce bottles of Fruta Vida are available online for either $34.95 or $39.95. There are also convenient 1.5-ounce sample size bottles that consumers may hand out to others or carry in a purse or bag to work. Consumers usually keep their 30-ounce bottles in the refrigerator at home.

Each of the “superfoods” have their function. Acai is composed of numerous antioxidants, including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and phytonutrients called anthocyanins. Cupuacu contains antioxidant phytonutrients called polyphenols. These are common in green tea and grape seeds. Yerba Mate is chemically similar to caffeine because Yerba Mate contains mateine. However, mateine is not as strong as caffeine and has a more subtle affect on the human body. The Brazilian apples add natural sweetness to the flavor of the drink.

Fruta Vida seems to be a good product for fighting against anti-aging, prevention of disease, and overall health. It seems to do a good job mixing antioxidants with the three “superfoods.” Its official website says that 37% of all prescription drugs contain an ingredient that originated in the rainforest. Fruta Vida is a product of the Brazilian rainforest. It seems to satisfy its consumers in the areas of improving health, combating aging, and prolonging life.

However, Fruta Vida is expensive, lacking in taste, aftertaste, and kick, has an ingredient that is a cousin of caffeine, neglects the important of diet and exercise, and does not claim to prevent or improve diseases. It seems to be just another energy drink on the market that claims a Brazilian rainforest origin.
