What You Should Know
Genceutic Naturals 24 Hr Nano CoQ10 is a tiny CoQ10 supplement that claims to support energy metabolism and immune function. It takes three weeks to double the amount of CoQ10 in the body using 24 Hr Nano CoQ10, as stated in the product description. The source of CoQ10 for this product is potato starch. There is a bit of information provided on the importance of CoQ10 supplementation, but none of the information is backed with research. We did find a list of external studies, but they are not studies at all. Articles published online and general information on CoQ10 does not qualify as studies.
Genceutic Naturals produces vegetarian, chemical and pesticide free supplements. This is the major push for selling supplements. The labeling relies heavily on the “natural” aspect of the supplement to sell a product that is otherwise common.
List of Ingredients
Patented Nanosized 24 Hour Time Released Microactive CoQ10 (as CoQ10 and Beta Cyclodextrin from Non GMO Potato Starch providing 100 mg CoQ10).
CoQ10 is an antioxidant produced by the body. During the conversion of oxygen to water in cells, oxidants form and escape into the space between cells. These are called free radicals. If free radicals are left unchecked, they take over healthy cells, reproduce and kill of the cell. They will continue to do this until an antioxidant stops the process. The human body produces many antioxidants, one of which is CoQ10. Will more CoQ10 improve exercise recovery or performance? Not according to clinical research. There have been no studies linking CoQ10 these claims.
Genceutic Naturals 24 Hr Nano CoQ10 supplies 100 mg of CoQ10 per serving with a suggested dose of two servings per day. Reports of negative side effects, like insomnia, have been reported at 100 mg doses. Doses of 300 mg per day may lead to increase liver enzymes. Patients with reduced liver function should not take CoQ10 supplements for this reason.
Genceutic Naturals CoQ10 sells for $31.99 per bottle.

CoQ10 first came out as a heart healthy supplement. Since then, tons of clinical trials have been completed aiming to verify the link between CoQ10 and heart health. The connection remains unclear. In some cases, CoQ10 can cause elevated liver enzymes and sleeplessness. Without a proven link to weight loss, exercise or recovery, there is little reason to supplement with 24 Hr Nano CoQ10 as the body already makes CoQ10.
