HealthFinder is a website that focuses on providing “reliable health information”. This website offers information on current health news as well as wellness and prevention information. HealthFinder is sponsored by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion which is in the United States Department of Health and Human Services and was created in 1997. This website offers information on numerous diseases, conditions, drugs and health alerts. This website does discuss weight loss, but that is not the focus of the website and the information on weight loss is not plentiful. HealthFinder claims that they are always updating the sites information so users are always getting information that is up-to-date. This website also has a section that only discusses children’s health so that parents can better understand any disease or condition their child may have as well as get more information on any medications that their child may be taking. HealthFinder can be viewed in Spanish as well.

Product Features

Advantages

  • Those seeking information on HealthFinder will not have to pay any fees.
  • This website offers a large array of information of numerous topics.
  • The HealthFinder website is easy to use and navigate.

Disadvantages

  • HealthFinder does not offer any information on weight loss supplements that may be able to burn fat and/or suppress the appetite.
  • There are no interactive tools for weight loss available on this website.
  • HealthFinder does not offer users the option to obtain a professional consultation.
  • This website will not help users develop a diet and exercise plan.

Conclusion

HealthFinder doesn’t really stand out from the rest of the multi-purpose health websites available today. HealthFinder may not be an ideal weight loss option for those who seeking information on fat burning or appetite suppressing supplements because this website does not discuss this. This website mainly focuses on diseases and conditions so those seeking a weight loss program will most likely not benefit from this website. Those seeking weight loss should aim to develop a healthy and complete diet and exercise program that they can stick with long-term. Users will need to assess their health and fitness goals and decide if using HealthFinder is right for them.
