Healthywomen.org promises that the information presented on their site is unbiased, understandable and relevant and that the research on the website is independent and free of influence from parties which may benefit therefore they ensure the credibility of the content on the site. They claim that they are the leaders in identifying new cutting edge health information and topics and conduct regular surveys of women to identify new health concerns, behaviors and attitudes. They strive to distribute women’s health information which reflects the general needs of the population and that the resources used are to enhance awareness about women’s health issues, address health information needs that are unmet needs and develop outreach programs for the public.

There are a number of women’s websites out there which have been providing women with quality, unbiased, physician approved health related information for many years. Some even publish information on the latest medical advancements available. Through national public education campaigns and by providing personal assistance, many of them have helped women stay informed and become health care consumers. However many of these sites including healthywomen.org do not have a diet and exercise plan to help women lose weight nor do they have a link to any other websites which may assist women with losing weight. The website content may be unbiased and professional but it is a bit too cluttered with information. A major health concern for women is obesity. It would be helpful if the healthywomen.org provided information for women on how to effectively lose weight while at the same time become healthier.
