What You Should Know
Herbalean is a fat burner sold on several websites that claim the formula contains ephedra. We found no ingredient list with ephedra included, so either the sellers are lying about the ingredients or the ingredient list is incomplete. We did find several stimulants, diuretics and a bit of aspirin, common with diet products that want to promote weight loss without using proven, safe ingredients. None of the ingredient lists we found for Herbalean showed how much of each ingredient was included, so the dieter is taking a huge chance when ordering the product.

What does a supplement company do when they don’t want to spend the money on proven, safe weight loss ingredients? They package together sub-standard ingredients that promote weight loss through dehydration and water loss and add a few familiar names. Herbalean is not a product we would trust to increase weight loss without negative side effects and for good reason.
Herbalean contains garcinia cambogia. This ingredient may be linked to liver damage or failure. Many companies have pulled formulas with garcinia cambogia and replaced the ingredient with another stimulant though no company has admitted the ingredient could cause harm to the dieter.
Uva ursi and konjac root are added to increase urination and bowel movements. These ingredients create the image of weight loss, but the dieter is not really losing any fat.
Synephrine is on the short list for FDA control/ban. This ingredient carries most of the same negative side effects as ephedra, but it is not proven to boost metabolism and weight loss like ephedra.
To make the ingredient list look good, the company adds green tea extract. There is no mention of how much green tea is in the formula, so we cannot say whether or not there is enough green tea to boost metabolism.
