There has been no long term scientific studies conducted on the people of Africa to determine whether there are any long ill side effects from consuming Hoodia Gordonii. Additionally there are no studies published that confirm that pill forms of the ingredients work the same as actually consuming the actual plant. The South African government has put restrictions on the sale and export plant due to high demand making it expensive and hard to come by. Many of the diet pills on the market which claim to contain Hoodia are bogus or at best contain only trace amounts of the ingredient. Like any other so called diet pill which is intended to produce quick results, the benefits last only as long as you are taking it. The weight generally comes back if the dieter resumes the same eating habits prior to dieting. Is any diet pill worth the possible health risks associated with taking a product that has little to no research behind it? We think not.
