Huge Impact Review
What You Should Know
Many bodybuilders will take multiple supplements to increase muscle mass and decrease recovery time between workouts. The typical kitchen cabinet will store creatine, arginine and protein. Stacking these ingredients requires a bit of knowledge about proper doses, but that’s not knowledge that every bodybuilder has from the start. For a quick start, bodybuilders can turn to combination supplements like Huge Impact. The supplement, manufactured by Muscle Gauge Nutrition, combines the major three bodybuilding ingredients into one powdered formula. We did not notice the work micronized on the ingredient list, so this powder may be difficult to mix.
List of Ingredients
Protein Matrix (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Micellar Casein, Calcium Caseinate, Milk Protein Concentrate), Skim Milk, Non-Diary Creamer, Proprietary MG Huge Impact Blend (Taurine, Creatine Monohydrate, L-Arginine Alpha Keto-Glutarate, Beta Alanine), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Xanthan Gum and Sucralose.
The big three bodybuilding ingredients in Huge Impact are creatine, arginine and protein. Creatine hydrates the muscle to facilitate growth and promote recovery. Arginine supports production of nitric oxide, so blood vessels are wide open and oxygen is pumping hard throughout the body. Protein is the fuel muscles need for growth and recovery. While these three are highly important for bodybuilders, Huge Impact forgot a few ingredients along the way.
Carbohydrates are typically included to move creatine and protein to the muscle faster. This formula contains only 7 grams of carbohydrates. Glutamine is the initial fuel the muscle uses during intense exercise. If glutamine stores are depleted, the muscle will turn on itself for fuel, burning muscle fibers instead of building muscle fibers. There is no glutamine in this formula.
This is also one of the only protein shakes we have reviewed that included coffee creamer in the ingredients. There is a problem with this because powdered, non-dairy creamer does not mix well in cold liquids. It typically clumps up and floats on the top of the liquid. There is no reason to add it to this formula, so we are unsure why it’s there.
- Contains three of the more important bodybuilding supplements.
- Available in chocolate and vanilla, common protein flavors.
- Creatine supports muscle hydration.
- Contains non-dairy creamer that will not mix well in cold liquids.
- Not enough carbohydrates.
- Does not contain glutamine.
- Huge Impact is a pretty basic protein powder.
Muscle Gauge Nutrition wants the bodybuilder to believe this supplement contains everything he or she needs to grow bigger, harder muscles, but there are a few things missing. Despite the missing carbohydrates and glutamine, we are more concerned with the non-dairy creamer. There is no way that stuff will mix in cold water or milk and protein will not mix in hot water or milk, so we have a dilemma. This powder will not mix well in any liquid so the bodybuilder can expect a clumpy shake.
