What You Should Know
Hydroxycut was once a huge name in supplements. After several reports of liver issues associated with some of their products, supplements were pulled from the shelves of every retailer and the website shut down. Hydroxycut came back with a new line, but instead of Garcinia Cambogia, they chose Green Coffee Bean as their primary ingredient this time around. We are a bit shocked that Hydroxycut South African Hoodia with Green Coffee Bean is one of the new products for the company. Hoodia Gordonii has long been disproven as an effective appetite suppressant, so they could have chosen a better main ingredient.
List of Ingredients
South African Hoodia With Green Coffee Extract Blend: Svetol Plus Energy F/X Blend – Green Coffee Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous and Asian Ginseng. Premium South African Hoodia Plus Blend – Hoodia Gordonii and Oat Fiber.
We assume the name Svetol is a brand name for the three ingredients listed in that blend because it is not listed as an ingredient. Green Coffee Extract and Caffeine are two stimulants. These will increase heart rate and may increase blood pressure as well. Caffeine is proven to help dieters increase fat burning potential, but only in certain amounts. Often, supplement formulas include too much caffeine leaving the dieter feeling jittery after taking the product. Too many stimulants can also cause hunger, which would mean the product would need a strong appetite suppressant.
Hydroxycut South African Hoodia with Green Coffee Extract uses Hoodia Gordonii as the strong stimulant. There was a time when Hoodia Gordonii was considered an appetite suppressant based upon a tribal myth, but clinical research proven it did not decrease appetite at all. The active ingredient is metabolized too fast by the body and thus has no effect on hunger.
Oat fiber is a good source of fiber that may help suppress hunger. Fiber works by slowing down digestion and thus food stays in the stomach longer, but that means this product must be taken about 30 to 45 minutes before a meal. With only two servings per day, there is one meal where no appetite suppression will be available.
- Commonly found on store shelves.
- Fiber could reduce hunger.
- Caffeine will increase metabolism.
- Hoodia Gordonii is an ineffective appetite suppressant.
Hydroxycut South African Hoodia with Green Coffee Extract is riddled with problems. The most important is the fact that Hoodia Gordonii does not suppress appetite. Then, there is the fact that most products that claim to have Hoodia Gordonii don’t really include the ingredient at all. Hydroxycut tries to increase validity of the claims with clinical research, but no links are listed on the website for these studies. Dieters will not see the benefits they want from this supplement.
