Isodrene HCG Review
What You Should Know
Isodrene HCG is an interesting weight loss supplement. Most HCG supplements come in spray or drop form and claim to increase metabolism and fat loss. Few companies combine HCG with other ingredients and even fewer combine HCG with proven weight loss ingredients. HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin. It is the female hormone released during pregnancy that triggers a positive home pregnancy test. There is no clinical evidence that HCG increases metabolism or promotes fat loss, but the supplements are often combined with a very low calorie diet, thus the weight loss. HCG was first used for weight loss by Dr. A.W. Simeons. He used HCG injections, not HCG supplements.
List of Ingredients
- Paullinia Cupana Extract
- Turnera Diffusa var. Aphrodisiaca Extract
- L-Aspartic Acid
- L-Glutamic Acid
Isodrene HCG is nothing more than an amino acid supplement with HCG and caffeine. The caffeine is the only proven weight loss ingredient in the formula as the company does not reveal how much caffeine is included. Add too much caffeine and the dieter suffers from negative side effects, including jitters, sleeplessness, nausea and vomiting. Add too little caffeine and the dieter might as well stop by Starbucks for a shot of espresso to get the metabolism moving.
Turning back to the HCG portion of the supplement. Dr. A.W. Simeons used an extremely low calorie diet with HCG injections to facilitate weight loss. His practices were recorded and passed down through the years only to end up the cornerstone of a cult following. HCG does not promote weight loss or fat loss. It this hormone worked as claimed, every pregnant woman on earth would be thin.
The diet followed while taking HCG is considered a fad diet. The plan allows less than 500 calories per day and may cause extreme hunger and anorexia. The diet does not allow proper intake of nutrition, so vitamin deficiencies may develop if it is followed for an extended period of time. This could be why dieters are not supposed to take Isodrene HCG for more than 45 days.

- Ingredients for the supplement are listed online.

Isodrene HCG is not a viable weight loss supplement. Aside from the long list of amino acids, the only ingredient worth mentioning in terms of weight loss is caffeine and the dieter is not told how much caffeine is included. Potential side effects of taking Isodrene HCG may include rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, nausea and jitters.
