Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum Review
What You Should Know
There are some Jillian Michaels products that make working out and weight loss easier, even for the beginner. Then, there are some that flop from the start. Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum is a Wii video game that attempted to use Wii movement to get dieters moving. The end result was one of the worst exercise video games in Wii history. The interaction between the follower and instructor is horrible, exercises are impossible and the game does not interact well with the Wii remote. The original version of the game was replaced with Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2011, which still received horrible customer reviews.

Wii fitness game by Jillian Michaels.
We think Jillian Michaels should have learned from the failure of the original Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum, but it seems she didn’t. The original game was tainted with horrible Wii interactive play and exercises that made no sense. The game quickly won several awards for being the worst fitness game available on the Wii. Then, a new 2011 version of Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum. This time, the dieter has to workout to save the city.
There are “new” exercises included in the 2011 Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum. These include jumping jacks, running and crunches. These are not new exercises. Michaels also included a high intensity workout for people for more advanced followers. The overall rating on Amazon.com for the 2011 Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum is about 2 stars. There is a 2010 version of Jillian Michaels Ultimatum, as well, and it received horrible reviews like 2009 and 2011.
Technology has advanced and the Wii offers plenty of interesting and effective exercise games, but the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum series is just poorly executed every time. The most common complaints are cheesy graphics, poor remote interaction and lack of information displayed on the screen. The “missions” require the follower to perform exercises correctly, as viewed by the Wii, or you fail the mission and have to start all over again.
Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2011 sells for $20 from Amazon.com. The 2009 and 2010 versions are slightly cheaper.
- Sells for less than most exercise games on Wii.
- Makes working out fun and interactive.
- All three versions of the game received horrible reviews.
- Interaction with the game is flawed.
- Missions are based on performing exercises “correctly”.
If there is one sector of the weight loss market Jillian Michaels should avoid it is the video game sector. The three versions of Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum all received some of the worst reviews of any interactive exercise game. From bad graphics to poor Wii remote interaction, there is little positive gain for the dieter trying to “save the city”.
