Kardea Gourmet: Heart Healthy Diet will teach you about the fundamentals of nutrition, where you learn more about good vs. bad fats, good vs. bad cholesterol, and how it all works together to affect your heart health. You do not have to become a vegetarian for this diet to work, but you are strongly encouraged to limit your meat intake, and limit your portion sizes to no more than four ounces at one time. Though no specific heart healthy diet is promoted, several different heart healthy diets, including the Mediterranean Diet and Okinawa Diet are discussed.

Kardea Gourmet: Heart Healthy Diet is a good foundation for those who are looking for a heart healthy diet, but it is missing some fundamentals. It is important to have clear-cut guidelines for a heart healthy diet, as well as clear-cut exercise plans. It also does not make much sense to only have recipes for lunch and dinner when breakfast and dessert are an integral part of many diets. Without the guidance for breakfast and dessert, many people could derail from the heart healthy diet. We recommend a diet low in saturated fat, high in lean protein, fresh produce, and whole grains. This should be combined with cardiovascular and strength training exercise to keep the body healthy and strong. Weight loss will assist with the management of heart disease and various other conditions. To boost your weight loss efforts, taking a clinically proven weight loss supplement in the form of an appetite suppressant or fat burner can also help.
