Kashi is a company that provides a line of nutritious foods, including cereals, snack bars, frozen foods, pilaf and Kashi shakes. The GoLean line offers those watching calories healthy choices in low calorie, tasty food, from pizza to a variety of cereals. This is where you will find the Kashi shakes in both chocolate and vanilla flavors. It is important to note that it appears some of the chocolate shake canisters have been recalled at the time of this review, and the company only seems to be offering vanilla shakes at this time.

Kashi’s website is easy to navigate and provides sufficient information on most of the products. Products can be purchased directly from the company website but are also found in many grocery and health food stores. The products are reasonably priced and the variety means that most dieters will find at least a few selections that are pleasant to their palates. However, the lack of flavor options in the Kashi shakes may turn off some consumers. And while we are pleased to see complete ingredient lists for all of the products, we would have liked to see directions for use listed as well. It is hard to know whether Kashi shakes are meant as a meal replacement or nutritional addition to the menu, based on the information provided.

The Kashi shakes are chocked full of nutrients, including fiber, protein, vitamins A, C, D, E and K, a host of B vitamins, and a number of essential minerals.

We like the fact that this product contains a high amount of fiber, since some meal replacement shakes are lacking in this regard. However, one of the hardest things about meal replacement programs is the hunger that creeps up before mealtime. Without an appetite suppressant in the formula, it may be hard to ward off those hunger pangs that can derail a diet before goals are reached. We do not find any such substance in the Kashi shakes. In addition, a proven fat burner can boost metabolism and help dieters get the maximum benefits from their workouts. The Kashi shakes do not seem to include a substance for this purpose either.

Kashi will accept returns on purchased merchandise for a full refund. However, the product must be unopened and returned in its original state. This type of policy does not allow consumers a risk free chance to try new diet products to see if they work for them.

While we agree there is certainly some merit in buying Kashi products as a part of a healthy diet, the Kashi shakes don’t appear to have enough oomph to help consumers achieve weight loss goals. We prefer a product that includes a proven appetite suppressant and fat burner for best results.
