LipoDerm Review - Does this Fat Fighting Gel Work? Are discouraging user comments and no real results deal breakers?

LipoDerm Review

A diet product’s worth depends on whether it actually helps people lose weight. Let’s find out if LipoDerm really works. Here at DietSpotlight, we conducted an in-depth review, focusing on the ingredients, side effects, clinical research and customer-service quality. We also read dozens of user comments and all sorts of feedback from around the web. At last, we summarized and compressed to give you the information you need.

What is LipoDerm?

To begin with, LipoDerm ingredients include caffeine, synephrine, yohimbine HCL, acetyl l-carnitine, octopamine HCL, SesaThin and ascorbyl palmitate. This is a topical gel treatment that is applied directly to problem areas like the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and lower back. It should be used twice daily (four-eight pumps). According to the bottle, this product helps remove excess water and targets fatty areas. It’s suitable for both women and men, but is marketed more at ladies.

From what we gathered, LipoDerm first emerged around 2011. This fat-loss treatment is made by Avant Labs, which is located in Oklahoma. It’s available through online dealers such as Amazon. Furthermore, there are some helpful customer reviews posted on the web, but read on…

Discouraging User Comments – “Concerned Yet?”

The first issue we have with LipoDerm ingredients is discouraging customer comments. According to our Research Editor, “After surfing several websites, we found quite a few remarks and responses to this fat-loss gel treatment. Unfortunately, many of these reviews are not encouraging, and some are quite negative.”

One person stated, “I purchased this product. It was a total waste of money. I would not recommend this to anyone. It’s another American scam and I am surprised Amazon would endorse this product.”

On the other hand, a different person commented, “I used this product with morning cardio and hot yoga in the evening. I sweated a lot more than usually.”

Another reported, “Cannot tell if product worked or not. You’ll feel tingly, but icy hot will do that too.”

No Real Results – “Uh Oh”

Another concern we have is with minimal to no real results. One customer revealed, “I ran out of one bottle applying 2 times a day in a controlled study. No difference is noted.”

However, a different user commented, “Not sure yet. No LipoDerm side effects or irritation. That’s a plus.”

“Pulls off water weight. If that’s what you’re looking for, give LipoDerm a shot,” posted another.

Our research has shown if there is some particular part of a weight-loss product that is especially burdensome (discouraging user comments, no real results, side effects) the likelihood of long-term success is rather slim. Therefore, if LipoDerm does in fact lead to a long list of negative customer remarks, this could be a serious problem.

The Science – “Solid?”

Here at DietSpotlight, we need to see some actual science that supports the weight-loss product. As for LipoDerm, there is no solid clinical research presented. Since this treatment gel does contain caffeine, it may help draw some excess water from the tissue. However, this effect will not last very long.

The Bottom Line – Does LipoDerm Work?

So, should you pull out your credit card and order a bottle of LipoDerm? Well, we appreciate that this fat treatment gel is easy to apply anywhere. It’s also good to see that it contains natural ingredients like caffeine. On the other hand, we have some doubts about this product because it’s not backed by any actual research. Also, we’re concerned about the discouraging customer comments we found online.

If you’d like to shed more pounds, then we suggest you select a product that contains clinically tested ingredients for weight-loss, is backed by all sorts of positive user reviews and gives you plenty of bang for your buck.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2016 is one called Leptigen. Its formula is a proprietary blend of four key ingredients, which have been shown in published clinical research to help accelerate fat loss and boost metabolism. We can’t find any discouraging user remarks, and customer feedback around the web shows people are seeing great results.

The makers of Leptigen are so certain of their product they’re offering a Special Trial Offer, which is a good sign.

How Does LipoDerm Compare?

Previous LipoDerm Review (Updated August 12, 2013):

What You Should Know

LipoDerm-Ultra, by Avant Labs, is a spray on weight loss supplement that uses spot reduction technology to target fat in areas such as the abdominal region, hips, thighs and buttocks. The key ingredients are Yohimbe HCL and caffeine. Because of the supplement's topical form, Avant claims the product has no negative side effects. However, spot reduction technology is rather experimental, and there is a large amount of information not given on how the formula really works.

Yohimbe HCl, Caffeine, Octopamine HCl, Sesamin, Synephrine, Acetyl-Carntine, Ascorbyl Palmitate, and Lecithin.

Product Features

Yohimbine does not have thorough scientific studies supporting its benefits in weight loss. Only a few studies suggest that it blocks alpha(2) andrenoreceptors and is especially effective in the abdominal region in men and the glutofemoral area of women. This ingredient is also well known as a sexual stimulant. Avant gives no warning of the possibility that LipoDerm can increase your libido, making it unclear whether those effects would take place. The caffeine in LipoDerm is meant to reduce water retention. A small amount of caffeine is used in the formula, producing no stimulating effects. The fat burner Synephrine is a popular substitute for the illegal ephedrine. This product is feared by some consumers because of its similar structure to ephedrine. Octopamine HCl supposedly acts as a thermogenic agent by targeting fat brown cells. This claim is not backed by scientific evidence and this alkaloid is relatively new to the weight loss industry.

  • 100% money back guarantee.

  • Should not be used by people with heart or blood pressure problems.
  • Contains caffeine despite its "no-stimulant" promise.
  • Relatively expensive at $25 per small bottle.

Regardless of whether or not this product can be viewed as effective, it comes in a spray bottle. This technology has not been tested thoroughly, making us question whether or not the hydroalcoholic gel could be properly absorbed into the skin. This product is not worth the high price considering it doesn't contain effective ingredients including appetite suppressors.
