What You Should Know
Lipo-Shred Hypershock by Titan Nutrition makes four claims. The supplement will increase the amount of fat the body burns, increase energy, decrease water retention and decrease appetite. These are huge claims for the dieter because they cover all the most prevalent problems dieters face. Unfortunately, supplement companies can make any number of claims they like, but clinical research and user review must support these claims. We find a few proven ingredients on the list for Lipo-Shred, but we also find a few ingredients that may cause negative side effects.
The official website for Titan Nutrition lists all ingredients in Lipo-Shred and other supplements sold by the company. There is a brief product description, but none of the claims are supported with clinical research. The Warning paragraph is longer than the product description.
List of Ingredients
Proprietary Blend: Caffeine Anhydrous, Octopamine HCL, Evodiamine, 3-Acetyl-7-Oxo-DHEA, Dandelion Root, White Willow Bark, Ginger Root, Yohimbe 8 Extract, Maca, Daidzein, Niacin, Fucoxanthin, L-Theanine, Beta Phenyl-Ethyl-Alanine, N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine, Mucuna Pruriens and Excipients.
Caffeine is a proven stimulant. We have no idea how much caffeine is included in Lipo-Shred because of the proprietary blend, but we can assume there is more than 100 mg per serving, as is the case with many diet pills. Too much caffeine can lead to jitters and nausea.
Dandelion root is the diuretic responsible for reducing water retention. Not all dieters retain water and dieting itself tends to reduce water stores. Do you remember the first few days of your new diet? You lost more weight during those first days than you have since, because your body was dumping extra water. Long-term use of diuretics can lead to constipation and dehydration. The kidneys must work harder, so dieters with kidney problems should never take a diuretic. White willow bark is a natural form of aspirin. Dieters and bodybuilders take this ingredient to reduce joint pain.
Octopamine is known to help the body release fat from cells, but that does not mean it will promote weight loss. After fat is released, it is absorbed by neighboring cells, which is something many supplement manufacturers fail to reveal. Octopamine is associated with hypertension when taken with caffeine, yohimbe and stimulants of all kinds.
- We found a complete list of ingredients on the official website.
- Caffeine is proven to boost metabolism.
- Dieters may feel increased energy after taking Lipo-Shred.
- Contains multiple stimulants.
- Octopamine is linked to hypertension.
After reading through the product description and researching the ingredients in the Lipo-Shred formula, we suggest dieters choose a different product. This formula contains multiple stimulants, which could cause overstimulation and negative side effects. We are not thrilled with the use of octopamine, which increases blood pressure when taken with stimulants. With only one proven ingredient, there is a greater chance of negative side effects than positive benefits.
