What You Should Know
MaxOut FX is a weight loss supplement from MaxOut Body. The supplement claims to increase metabolism and control appetite with the power of Ephedra. There is only one type of Ephedra that works to boost fat burning and that ingredient is now illegal for use in weight loss supplements. Since the ban on Ephedra, several extracts from the same plant with no effects on metabolism have been used in products so the Ephedra name can boost sales. More than likely this is the case with MaxOut FX, but we will have to look at the ingredient list before making a final decision.
List of Ingredients
Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Chromium Picolinate, Ephedra Nevadensis, Citrus Aurantium Extract, Caffeine, Salicylate, GT3X Green Tea Triple Blend, Caralluma Fimbriata, Cayenne, Ginger Root, Bladderwrack, Citrus Bioflavonoids, Acai Berry.
Immediately we notice the Ephedra Nevadensis ingredient. This is a product of the Ephedra plant that will not have any fat burning effects. The name is the only reason this ingredient is used. We also notice immediately following the Ephedra is Citrus Aurantium, Caffeine and Salicylate. Citrus Aurantium is the Ephedra replacement – a stimulant. Caffeine is another stimulant and Salicylate is a combination of Salicylic Acid and White Willow Bark. Looks like a classic ECA stack without the Ephedra.
The ECA stack became popular when Ephedra was the premier stimulant used in weight loss supplements. E = Ephedra, C = Caffeine and A = Aspirin. The Ephedra in this supplement is removed with Citrus Aurantium pushed into the stack. Caffeine is present and white willow bark is the natural equivalent to aspirin. An ECA stack does not work without ECA. The Citrus Aurantium and Caffeine are both strong stimulants so there will be increased heart rate and metabolism associated with these, but there could also be overstimulation if the dieter has not used high levels of caffeine.
Moving on we see a triple blend of green tea. The triple part is useless, but the total amount of green tea in the supplement is worth mentioning. MaxOut FX packs 360 mg of green tea complex into the supplement. That is more than most supplements include and green tea is a proven fat burner so this is a positive.
The final ingredients are part of a proprietary blend. Cayenne is included to improve absorption and offer a bit of fat burning. Ginger root is also included to improve digestion so more of the supplement is utilized by the body. Bladderwrack is a natural laxative with diuretic effects.
MaxOut FX sells from the official website for $39.95.
- Caffeine will increase metabolism.
- The supplement offers a good dose of green tea.
- All ingredients are listed on the official website.
- The price is lower than comparable products.
- Bladderwrack is not safe for use by all dieters – potential iodine toxicity.
- The Ephedra ingredient is included for the name only.
Too many stimulants and a potentially dangerous ingredient in Bladderwrack takes away from the fantastic source of green tea in MaxOut FX. We would like to support this supplement but dieters should not have to risk potentially harmful side effects just to lose weight.
