Maxs Super Shred Review
What You Should Know
Max’s Super Shred is a protein shake that doubles as a meal replacement shake. The formula is like a classic meal replacement combined with a fat burner and a carb blocker. We are quite intrigued by the idea of combining the three, but there is little evidence a weight loss/fat burning/protein shake is the ideal product for weight loss. There are some complaints about the viscosity of the supplement when mixed with water, but the dieter does not want to use milk because of the added calorie content. If you are going to try this supplement as a weight loss product, you’ll likely have to deal with the thin texture and protein grit.
List of Ingredients
- Green Coffee Extract
- Hydroxycitric Acid
- Green Tea
- L-Leucine Alphaketoglutarate
- Glutamine Peptides
- Branched Chain Amino Acids
- High Glycomacropeptide Whey Protein Isolate
- High Beta Whey Fraction Whey Protein
The first thing we noticed about Max’s Super Shred is the long list of ingredients. Each of these ingredients takes up space in a protein powder, so we’re not sure how accurate the dosing really is. The scoop in the container is smaller than the suggested serving size, another problem with dosing fat burners in powdered form.
As for the ingredients, there are just a few that we think are worth some added attention. The Phaseolamin is a carb blocker. This ingredient does not really block carbs, it prevents carbs from being broken into tiny pieces and thus they are digested faster.
Hydroxycitric acid is a fat burner, but it is not a safe alternative to other choices on the market. There are reports of liver damage associated with HCA.
Green tea is a safe and effective fat burner. Guarana is a source of caffeine, which could proven dangerous if the dieter takes too much of the powder at one time. Phenylalanine may alter mood. This ingredient is not considered safe for some dieters.
Our biggest problem with Max’s Super Shred is the fact that it is self-measured. We are playing with fat burners and stimulants here and too much powder could mean too much stimulant and a slew of negative side effects.
- There are several reviews on Max’s Super Shred online.
- The ingredient list is available, but not in label form.
- Contains several sources of protein.
- Contains fat burners in powder form.
- The dieter must measure each serving, which could lead to taking too much.
Max Super Shred is a good concept, but we are afraid of the possible consequences of taking too much of the supplement at one time. HCA is another concern as there are reports of negative side effects and the FDA has been involved in at least one recall of products containing this ingredient.
