North American Herb Review
What You Should Know
North American Herb & Spice Company was founded in 1999 by Judy Kay Gray. She felt that nourishment though raw, whole foods was the key to maintaining health. They now have more than 130 products. Ms. Gray invented a proprietary process that allows for concentrating different raw spices and steam distilling them. Then they capture the concentrated oil and emulsify them with olive oil for palatability. All the spice extracts claim to be free from pesticides, chemicals, and solvents.
They have a product called OreganolP73 that they claim is the cornerstone of their product line. Oreganol P73 is a blend of edible species of wild oregano. This product can be used both internally and topically. Oregano oil has been used to treat gum disease, athlete’s foot, candidiasis, and cold sores. It is known for its antiparasitic, antiviral and antiparasitic compounds. It has also been used to aid in digestion. Oreganol P73 is in liquid form concentrate or gelcaps. You can purchase in different ounces or capsule amounts.

It seems as if the founder’s dedication to natural, raw, whole foods are a credit to her company’s success. She prides herself in creating her own way of extracting the oils from different herbs in their best concentrations and mixes them so we can take them topically or orally. Herbs are widely used around the globe for their many different properties and this company is taking advantage of what’s available. We don’t really like that you cannot order directly online, or that when you do list your zip code, you might not find a large list of stores available. The person writing this article lives in a large metropolis city and couldn’t find more than 6 stores in the entire state that are stocking this company’s products, so it could be difficult to find in smaller towns across the country. With that said, there are many ways that we can get the products we want these days thanks to the internet, so don’t let availability (or lack thereof) get in the way if you want to try these products.
