Nutiva Chia Seed is an organic variety of an ancient superfood. Some consider the chia seed one of the healthiest foods on the planet supplying fiber, omega 3 fatty acids and a nutrient profile unlike any other seed. Each tablespoon of Nutiva Chia Seed supplies 60 calories, 3 grams of fat and 3 grams of protein. There are 5 grams of carbohydrates per tablespoon, but all of the carbohydrates are sourced from fiber. There is also 2,375 mg of omega 3 fatty acid and a bit of omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids as well. While the average western diet is already rich in omega 6 fatty acids, the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 is optimal for overall health and well-being.
