Phenyl XS Review
What You Should Know
Phenyl XS is a fat burning supplement from Sports One. The formula is laden with stimulants and dangerous mood-altering ingredients. While the amount of caffeine in the formula is generally considered within safe limits, it is the other ingredients that turn this supplement into a dangerous product.
List of Ingredients
- B-Methyl-Phenylethylamine HCL
- Phenylethylamine HCL
- Caffeine Anhydrous – 100mg
We’re going to go straight for the heart of this supplement – the ingredients. First on the list is methyl phenylethylamine. Phenylethylamine alters mood via the brain and is not safe for dieters with mental health issues. Some dieters believe that because they are not diagnosed with an official disease or condition that they can safely take phenylethylamine – but that is not the case. This ingredient can alter mood, cause mood swings and work against some prescription medications. Off-label uses for antidepressants include smoking cessation and weight loss. So you could be taking an antidepressant and not realize it. Phenylethylamine HCL is included a second time on the ingredient list in non-methylated form.
Methylsynephrine is a methyl form of citrus aurantium. This ingredient is a stimulant most commonly known as the alternative go-to ingredient to replace ephedra. Synephrine, in both methyl and non-methyl forms, can cause increased heart rate, increased blood pressure and symptoms of caffeine overload.
Caffeine anhydrous is a powdered form of caffeine. There is 100 mg of caffeine in this supplement. In most cases this would be just enough to boost metabolism without leaving the dieter feeling too jittery. However, when combined with the other stimulant ingredients in this formula, there are bound to be negative side effects. The caffeine is likely added for a small energy boost and to prolong the effects of the other ingredients.

Phenyl XS is not a safe fat burner. Sports One, the company behind the supplement, wants dieters to believe the ingredients are safe and effective, but that is not the case. Three of the ingredients in this supplement are dangerous and may interfere with prescription medications. If the dieter wants a safe alternative, it is best to look for a supplement with green tea, chromium and moderate amounts of caffeine.
