Phenyldrene is one of those old-school formulas that claims to still contain ephedra despite the fact that ephedra is now a controlled substance. In order to buy ephedra in the United States, a dieter must pick up a card from a pharmacy, take the card to the counter, have their personal information collected via a state issued ID. Purchases are limited on a rolling calendar with daily, weekly and monthly limitations. This supplement is not part of that program, so if the ephedra on the ingredient list is real this supplement is illegal.

List of Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • Ephedra Extract
  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • Phenylethylamine HCL
  • Synephrine HCL
  • Raspberry Ketones
  • L-Tyrosine
  • Hoodia Gordonii
  • White Willow Bark
  • Vitamin B6

Product Features

Phenyldrene contains the same ingredients found in most ECA stacks sold before ephedra was regulated. The base three ingredients are ephedra, caffeine and white willow bark. This is the ECA stack that took the world by storm and caused the FDA to pull products from the market. ECA is proven to boost metabolism, reduce hunger and improve weight loss. You basically WILL lose weight when taking these three ingredients, but at what cost? There were multiple deaths reported in association with ECA stacks. Ephedra was also used to make methamphetamines and other street drugs.

The ECA stack is enough for us to frown on Phenyldrene, but the company just keeps on coming. Phenylethylamine causes euphoric side effects similar to illegal drugs in some users. Synephrine is another stimulant that impacts the heart just as much as ephedra and hoodia is an appetite suppressant with no clinical support even after human trials. WOW!

Phenyldrene manages to combine proven, illegal ingredients with worthless ingredients to create a dangerous, useless supplement all at the same time.

Advantages

  • Ingredients for Phenyldrene are listed online.
  • The classic ECA stack will increase weight loss.

Disadvantages

  • L-Tyrosine is not strong enough to counteract the effects of ephedra and synephrine.
  • ECA stacks are no longer legal for use in diet supplements.
  • Dieters with health issues, especially heart, liver and psychiatric issues should not take Phenyldrene.

Conclusion

Dieters may be on the look for the best supplement on the market, but they fell short with Phenyldrene. This supplement is nothing but a heart attack in a bottle with a few loopy mood swings thrown in for good measure. Caffeine is the only ingredient in the supplement that is safe and effective for weight loss, but BCS Labs decided to throw in 200 mg of caffeine – far too much.
