Power Chews are a unique line of bodybuilding supplements sold in “chew” form. Instead of drinking supplements, the company has compacted the ingredients into a smaller, candy-like chew that tastes great. The bodybuilder simply pops a chew and gets on with the workout. There are four products in the Power Chews line-up: Pre Workout, BCAA, Creatine and Glutamine. The Post Workout version is coming soon. Power Chews are not created for dieters. The ingredients are included to support bodybuilding and weight training only.

List of Ingredients

Pre Workout: Max Lift Formula – Creatine Monohydrate, Beta Alanine, L-Arginine-Alpha-Ketoglutarate. Rapid Sets Formula – Glucuronolactone, Caffeine, 1,3 Dimethylamylamine.

BCAA: L-Leucine, L-Valine and L-Isoleucine.

Creatine: Creapure Creatine Monohydrate.

Glutamine: Glutamine.

Product Features

The Pre Workout Power Chews are the most intense. Each chew contains 100 mg of caffeine packed with creatine and nitric oxide boosters. These same ingredients are commonly found in most pre workout shakes. The BCAA, Creatine and Glutamine Power Chews are simple and contains just the ingredients mentioned in the product name.

The ingredients are not different, but the delivery system is quite different. We assume the company packs the Power Chews full of flavoring because that flavoring is needed to hide the taste of the ingredients. Each chew contains sugar alcohols, so there could be some gastrointestinal side effects, including gas, bloating and diarrhea.

The small size of each chew could pose a problem. The bodybuilder needs to ensure they are taking only one serving of Power Chews at a time, no matter how good the supplement tastes.

Power Chews cost more than comparable shakes. One canister retails for more than $60. Some companies sell the same products for less than $20.

Because the Power Chews are molded, the bodybuilder cannot alter the total amount of the ingredients included. Most bodybuilders like the ability to adjust shakes and supplementation as needed.

Advantages

  • Simple delivery system.
  • Tastes great.
  • No more gritty shakes.
  • Portable – no water needed.
  • Contains ingredients similar to powdered products.

Disadvantages

  • No clinical references.
  • No testimonials regarding taste.
  • Many bodybuilders like the shakes.
  • Could reduce water intake.

Conclusion

Power Chews are a unique concept, but we are not sure bodybuilders will jump up and convert to chews. Shakes give the bodybuilder the power to create a personalized formula. If they want a little more creatine, they add a little more to the shake. The Power Chews are pre-measured and they cannot be altered in any way.

Dieters have no need to take Power Chews. The products include bodybuilding ingredients like creatine and glutamine. Creatine will cause water retention and weight gain, so the dieter would gain weight taking the Power Chews that contain creatine. Creatine is also known to cause muscle cramping.
