Constipation – “I’m Stuck!”
The first negative relating to Proactol side effects was constipation. “Maybe you don’t want to talk about it, but it happens to us all,” said our Research Editor. “Getting bound up by a weight-loss supplement is not something you have to settle for.”
“I can safely say I will never be trying Proactol again! I started taking them and rather than weight loss all I experienced was really bad constipation. I drank as much water as I could to try and ‘smooth things out’ but it was no help,” commented a customer.
“When they say “constipation” is a side effect of this product, they are not kidding. Plan on drinking HUGE amounts of water (well over eight glasses a day),” said a dieter.

Does It Really Work?
Another issue is that some customer comments say Proactol ingredients aren’t effective. “I have dieted for two months now and taken these tablets that entire time. It’s very disappointing and disheartening. This product had no benefit for me, I’ll have to keep looking,” commented a customer.
“So far I’ve been taking Proactol for a couple of weeks and I’ve yet to see any real effects,” reported a dieter.
“I’ve been taking Proactol for 6 whole months. I’ve kept going in the hope that it is just a slow working pill and the weight loss will eventually pick up but now after six months I’m considering giving up. I’ve not really seen any major effects and no dramatic weight loss so I don’t know how effective it is,” said a user.
Our research has found, if there’s an issue with a product, like ineffectiveness, there’s a slim chance of long-term success. If Proactol doesn’t live up to the hype, dieters will leave it behind.
Based on the official Proactol website, the supplement is “clinically proven,” yet the company doesn’t provide scientific evidence to support the claims. We found research stating the active ingredients in Proactol are ineffective. According to the Journal of the International Association for the Study of Obesity states, “results obtained from high-quality trials indicate that the effect of chitosan on body weight is minimal and unlikely to be of clinical significance.” At DietSpotlight, finding studies to link the formula to weight-loss claims is imperative. If a company can’t provide proof, we have concern.
The Bottom Line
After taking a hard look at Proactol, we’ve reached conclusion. There are some positives like the time the company has been in business and that we located a few favorable customer comments, but we can’t recommend it because there’s no published scientific research supporting weight-loss claims.
If you want to drop extra weight, we recommend going with a product with no known side effects, with a formula supported by published clinical research.
