Procera AVH is a nutritional supplement advertised to help improve mental performance, memory and mood significantly. The Procera AVH formula uses Vinpocetine. The manufacturer claims this property increases blood flow to the brain and improves the metabolic activity by elevating key neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine. Brain Research Labs, founded by Josh Reynolds and Robert Heller, MD., manufacture Procera. The company website states that Dr. Heller and Joshua Reynolds are pioneers of clinical trials on cognitive enhancing supplements.

Ingredients

Vinpocetine, Huperzine, Acetyl L-Carnitine

Product Features

Procera AVH claims to increase cerebral vascular blood flow, hence increasing memory capacity and mood. This product contains three main ingredients, Vinpocetine, Huperzine and Acetyl L-Carnitine. Vinpocetine is a natural extract of the periwinkle flower. Huperzine comes from the Chinese Club Moss and works as a acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, the enzyme that destroys neurotransmitters. Acetyl L-Carnitine is a naturally occurring element in the human body. While the FDA does not approve the product, all ingredients fall under the Dietary Supplemental Health & Education Act as approved. The manufacturer recommends those taking blood thinners seek medical advice before using Procera AVH. The product line for Procera AVH consists of a three-bottle supply for around 40 dollars. Brain Research Labs offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee for those who try Procera AVH.

Advantages

  • Brain Research Labs offers clinical studies and consumer testimonies on their website.
  • The company offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee.
  • Purchasers of Procera AVH receive a book written by Joshua Reynolds titled ’20/20 Brain Power.’
  • The three ingredients in Procera AVH are approved by the FDA independently, however, the product is not.

Disadvantages

  • While there are a number of scientific studies offered as proof of this products effectiveness, the sources seem questionable. No independent agency reports studies, only the manufacturer, Brain Research Labs.

Conclusion

Mental acuity is often a concern of those approaching the golden years. Procera AVH seems to target the elderly or senior citizens for their product. The ingredients are all natural and without any reported side effects. Brain Research offers many clinical trials on their product. However, most studies occur outside of the United States. The Internet offers little in the way of information about this product. Most articles available come from the manufacturer or a partner. There is no way of knowing for sure if Procera AVH can do what it says it can other than trying it. Most effective products tend to have more information about them from experts or independent sources. Lack of information does not necessarily mean the product does not work, but it would seem to be an indicator. Overall, if you want a supplement that will enhance your brain function, Procera AVH may work for you.

I ordered Procera AVH & Ceraplex, which comes with it,but I am concerned about the safety of taking it since I have Moderate Cognitive Im-pairment. I don’t know if it will help my cognitive functioning, which is not bad at this point, but I thought I would try it. Also the article above noted that Huperzine is an enzyme that destroys neurotransmitters. Would that not be a possible problem? I would appreciate your resonse. Thank you
