ProLab Cuts II Gold Review
What You Should Know
ProLab Cuts II Gold claims the supplement will lean out the body and help reduce water retention to give your body a chiseled look. The ingredient list supports some of these claims, but weight loss is not the ultimate side effect of this nutritional supplement. With more than one diuretic, this supplement will likely cause the dieter to lose more water than body fat.
List of Ingredients
Proprietary Lipotropic Blend: L-Carnitine, Dandelion Extract, Fucoxanthin Rich Seaweed, Parsley, Uva Ursi Extract, Evodia Extract.
Chromium, Magnesium, Potassium.
The proprietary blend includes L-Carnitine for optimal fat metabolism. L-Carnitine is a common bodybuilding ingredient, but it is not as common as a weight loss ingredient. Though L-Carnitine may help improve fat metabolism for energy, it cannot be consumed in conjunction with protein, which should be noted in the literature.
Dandelion Extract, Parsley and Uva Ursi are diuretics. Diuretics help shed water to prevent bloating and alleviate water retention. Excessive use of diuretics can lead to severe dehydration and potassium depletion. Later in the ingredient list, potassium is included in the supplement. What that means is the formula is a strong enough diuretic to reduce potassium stores and that could be dangerous.
Fucoxanthin Rich Seaweed is often included as a fat burner. One study from Japan claimed weight loss benefits, but human studies in the United States have not repeated these results thus the ingredient is not proven.
The final ingredient is Evodia Extract. Evodia is also a natural fat burner; though no human studies have been completed proving any fat burning capabilities. Animal studies show the ingredient can raise body temperature leading to weight loss. Animals have a different metabolism than animals so the studies are not interchangeable.
Chromium is the only proven ingredient in ProLabs Cuts II Gold. Chromium helps to control blood glucose levels which in turn helps stave off hunger. It will not increase fat burn, however. Magnesium is commonly included with calcium to counteract calcium induced constipation, but there is no calcium in this product. This could only mean Magnesium is used as a natural laxative.
ProLab Cuts II Gold sells for $26.99 per 90 count bottle. This price is much lower than comparable supplements, but that only means the ingredients are less effective in this case.
