Protidiet Review - Does This Protein Line Work? Are lack of ingredients and poor taste deal breakers?

By Summer Banks on Aug 11, 2016
Protidiet Review

In the weeks that led to this review, I figured out whether Protidiet actually works. After digging deep into the ingredients, side effects, research, and customer service, we went one step further. We read through hundreds of comments and forum posts to get a feel for what’s really going on. Then, we condensed it all here to give you just the facts.

EDITOR'S TIP:

What is Protidiet?

First off, this is a line of weight-loss supporters, marketed toward both men and women, that place emphasis on protein. Protidiet ingredients vary depending on product, but include soy and whey protein components. Some are more portable than others, but grab a big bag and tote them anywhere.

Pro-Amino International, Inc. manufacturers Protidiet. The company first got its start in 1988, and sells products in the United States and Europe. We like the company longevity, and variety of flavors, but read on…

No Full Ingredient Listing – “What Are They Hiding?”

Our first concern is the fact that we cannot see full ingredient listings for the Protidiet products. “We can tell by the name there’s protein there. What else is in it? When we don’t know, there’s always a concern,” said our Research Editor. Based on user reviews, we’re not sure if they are good or bad.

”The only complaint I have is the product has an odd odor—not good, not bad, just odd,” said one dieter.

”Not the most satisfying shake I have ever eaten but it works in a pinch,” said another.

Others say it’s a great product.

“I use this on a low carb diet with lite regular almond milk and ice. Very satisfying,” shared a buyer.

“Love the product. Good substitution for Ideal Protein. Satisfying!,” claimed a customer.

Taste– “Yuck!”

If dieters are going to keep using something like this, it has to taste good. Several reviews indicate that the flavor isn’t great at all.

”The Proti Diet shake tastes horribly chemically and artificial,” said one user.

”Tastes awful. Way too sweet,” shared a user.

But, not everyone dislikes the taste.

“They keep you full with an awesome taste,” one dieter claimed.

As another put it, “I love that this actually tastes like chocolate.”

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that it takes a small thing to turn customers away from your product. Things like a lack of ingredient information and poor taste mean dieters will look for better alternatives than Protidiet.

The Science – “So-So”

We know that protein is a vital part of a balanced diet, and you have to get enough of it to lose weight. But, we don’t see anything different about these products compared to anything else available on the market today. Plus, here at DietSpotlight, we need proof and without an ingredient list we have none.

The Bottom Line – Does Protidiet Work?

Is it time to clear the shelves of Protidiet? Well, we have reservations about saying that. The formulas may be perfect for supplying protein and curbing hunger, but there’s no way to know that if they don’t share the formulas. We are also concern3ed about the taste.

If you want to get rid of that extra weight for once and for all, consider using a supplement that contains clinically tested ingredients known to help you burn more fat and suppress your appetite. To get even better results, make lifestyle changes to include a reduced calorie diet and regular exercise program.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2016 is one called Leptigen. It’s made using a unique formula of ingredients, all of which are shared, that are clinically tested and shown to help support a boost in metabolism. Over the course of our research, we could not locate any negative mentions or harmful side effects. This tells us people are getting solid results and are happy with it.

Plus, anyone who is interested can get a Special Trial Offer direct from the manufacturer. We like it when companies have this much faith and confidence in their products.

How Does Protidiet Compare?

Protidiet is a line of weight loss supplements that are marketed toward men and women that emphasize protein. These products are manufactured by Pro-Amino International Inc. This company was founded back in 1988 and caters primarily to the US and Europe. Although Protidiet products do not appear to be sold on the official website, they are offered on a number of other websites/stores. Protidiet products range from snack mixes, soy nuts, cookies, soup mixes and stir fry meals to pudding, snack and cereal bars, hot cocoa, tea and cold beverages. Protidiet also offers shakes, oatmeal and pancakes. There don't appear to be any customer testimonials provided on the official website. The primary active component offered in Protidiet products is protein derived from soy and whey. This key ingredient aims to assist with the building and repairing of lean muscle mass. In addition, Protidiet products are generally low in carbohydrates and calories. This is supposed to help the users reduce unwanted body fat. Protidiet products range from $2.50 to $15. These supplements are not offered with a 100% money-back/satisfaction guarantee. Unfortunately there are no free trial samples of Protidiet products available via the official website at this time. There doesn't appear to be any specific fitness regimen or diet plan recommended with Protidiet products.

Product Features

Protidiet is a line of weight management products that are geared toward both men and women. This product line places a focus on soy and whey protein components, while minimizing fat calories and simple carbohydrates. Essentially Protidiet products aim to assist with fat reduction and improve lean muscle mass, energy levels and overall health. All Protidiet products can be purchased online through websites that offer Protidiet. These supplements can be consumed at any time of the day and offer vitamins and minerals. Protidiet products are not supported by any clinical research presented on the official website.

Advantages

  • All Protidiet food products can be acquired online.
  • Protidiet supplements are suitable for men and women alike.

Disadvantages

  • There are no customer testimonials offered for Protidiet products on the official Pro-Amino website.
  • Some ingredients found in Protidiet products may not be suitable all users.
  • There is no 100% money-back/satisfaction guarantee offered with Protidiet supplements.
  • No free trial samples of Protidiet products are available via the website.
  • No particular diet plan or fitness routine are recommended with Protidiet products.
  • No word on how these meal supplement products taste.
  • This product seems geared more towards helping users with a protein deficiency than stimulating weight loss.

Conclusion

When all is said and done, the Protidiet line is more of a food supplement brand, than a diet pill brand. There aren't any convenient diet capsules offered from Protidiet that curb hunger or burn fat. On the bright side, Protidiet does offer a wide array of food products that contain soy and whey proteins. However, it would still be nice to see some actual clinical research, a few customer testimonials and a money-back guarantee posted on the official website to support Protidiet products. In the end, this product line may not be suitable for individuals who are seeking a more simple and convenient pill or capsule supplement to help them lose weight.

I started Protidiet in September of 2015 and have lost 40 pounds so far. There food tastes way better than IP and is way cheaper also. I get mine off of Doctorsbestweightloss.com. I eat one packet for breakfast and drink 16 ounces of water. For lunch I have one packet and 4 cups of veggies or a salad with balsamic vinegar, 16 ounces of water. For dinner I eat 8 ounce of meat (weighed before cooking) and 4 cups of vegetables and 16 ounces of water, I have 1 packet for an snack (usually around 7pm) and drink 16 ounces of water. It works for me. It’s tough in the beginning, but that’s the case with any diet. I plan of staying on the eating plan for life. Hope this helps.

Hi, I am going back on Proti, I’ve gained back some of the 30 pounds I lost 3 years ago. I loved the products, much better than IP. Does anyone have the sheet(s) that explain what you can have to eat each day? I can’t remember exactly how the initial phase works. I have some product left over and I’m going to purchase more without having to pay for the program start up. Thanks.

I remember it was five PD items per day and one “lean and green” (piece of lean protein and salad with low-cal dressing) plus 64 oz water/coffee. And 1 hr exercise. I’ve returned to it this week, lost 3 lbs so far. I don’t do the after dinner snack though, lost a lo9t more slowly if I ate after 7 pm. It’s pretty good stuff! Low cholesterol too, which I need.

I have been selling Ideal Protein out of my clinic for 2 years with great success, but one of the biggest barriers for my dieters was the cost. I am switching over to the Protidiet to save my dieters some $$ and have the same success. I must admit reading these comments and hearing about the cost still being a concern, makes me wonder about the thinking of overweight people and their true desire to lose weight. No weight loss program will work without desire and comittment. I really think that if people saw the real long term damage that being overweight can do to a human body, they would not balk at paying $200-$400/month to lose weight. Especially when you look at what people do spend $200-$300/month on. Our current mentality is what made us (North Americans)the most obese people in the history of the world. Something has to change.

Speaking as an overweight person, I have to say that the cost is based on income, and some people just cannot afford to pay the $200 – $400.00 a month. I had succed with Ideal Protein, but found it very expensive to spend spend $80.00 a week on just those products, plus more money on other foods. The irony of the Ideal protein is that it is made here in Quebec, but we have to pay so much more for it than our American counterparts. Worse still is the fact that if we decide to order from and american supplier, although the price is alot less, when you add the taxes and shipping charges it’s rediculous. There was at one time an online company called Protiwell.ca, but they seem to have gone out of business. So the question is….why do we Canadians have to pay so much for a product that is made in Canada, yet the Americans get it for almost half the price and often times get free shipping included? That is absolutely rediculous.

I’m wondering, can you do Proti Diet the same way you do Ideal Protein? I loved Ideal Protein but hated always running to the office to purchase items and the cost was high. The cost of Proti Diet seems right where I want to be!

I started protidiet 4 weeks ago and have lost 14.5 pounds. No fruit though as it has natural sugar which will take you out of ketosis. Did your clinic tell you to have fruit ?!! My question: I see many U.S sites sell boxes for $12. Does anyone know where we can buy it in Canada without going through a clinic and paying $20 per box. I want to lose another 30 pounds and would like to spend less. Thanks.

I’m looking to purchase the Protidiet products in Canada too. It’s ironic that the products are made in Canada, yet we canadians have to buy from the U.S. or pay outrageous clinic prices. I say $12 a box is not bad, although i’ve seen cheaper}, but it’s the shipping, taxes and customs fees that just makes the overall cost rediculously high.

I’ve been eating 2 protidiet supplements a day along with a 2 starch, 2 fruit, 2 protein & 2 vegetable serving diet per day for almost 3 months. I even give myself 1 cheat day a week… I’ve lost 23 pounds and feel better than I have in years. I still have about 30 pounds left to go but feel truly motivated and confident to hit my goal. I’m a huge fan of the Protidiet supplements !!!

Jess – I just started the Proteidiet and I am on the MM3 plan, not sure if that tells you anything cuz it may only be a reference from the clinic I am at. But I believe its the same plan as you mentioned above.

I just wanted to know if you have 2 protidiet food in combo with 2 protein servings per day? So by the end of the day you would have had:

    4 portions of protein
    2 fruit servings
    2 veg servings
    2 starch servings

I just wanted to be sure I understood.

Thanks and thanks for your feedback too! Its great to see this working for someone else!

I have been on it 8 weeks. I like the food. I have lost 13 pounds. I didn’t have much to lose, so it is much harder to get off. I am also in therapy and cannot exercise. The drinks taste like crystal Lite, but without the artificial sweetener taste. I use it as my snack about 10:00 am. it fills me up and I enjoy it. I eat a bar in the evening as a second snack. I have liked all of them. They satisfy the cravings for sweets. I have made all of my meals. I wish it were not so expensive, but I will keep ordering it.
