GNC is one of those companies that does not give up. One of the newer supplement lines is designed with extreme bodybuilders in mind. Every supplement in the line is stronger, better and more effective than other products on the market, or so the product descriptions tell the reader. Ravage is part of the Beyond Raw line and the claims are just as outrageous as we’ve come to expect from GNC. The ingredient list does not lie, so when the company says this is THE vasodilator of the century, we’ll know if they are lying.

The official GNC website is superb. All supplements are easy to find and order. Customers are highly interactive, so most products have reviews listed in the product description.

List of Ingredients

Anabolic Muscle Primer: HMB Powder, Yohimbe Powder, Betaine Anhydrous, Micronized L-Leucine, Wild Yam, Fenugreek Extract and Saw Palmetto Extract.

Muscle Buffering System: Astaxanthin and Micronized CarnoSyn Beta-Alanine.

N.O. Vasodilation Amplifier: Citrulline Malate, Micronized L-Arginine, Ornithine AKG, ResVida-Trans Resveratol and Cinnamon Extract.

ATP Optimizing Creatine Module: Creatine HCl, Creatine Citrate, Micronized Creatine Monohydrate, Creatine AKG, Creatine Ethyl Ester HCl, Micronized L-Arginine, Micronized L-Methionine and Micronized L-Glycine.

Thermo Energy Intensifier: L-Taurine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Piperine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Phenylalanine, Capsimax and Choline Bitartrate.

Product Features

The first mistake GNC makes with the Beyond Raw line and Ravage in particular is the use of proprietary blends. These products are designed for bodybuilders who’ve been around the sport for a while. There is no sense in hiding the ingredients behind some blend name instead of telling them how much of the ingredient is included, unless GNC is trying to hide something. We figure they are trying to hide the details of the formula because they know another company can make the supplement for less and sell more.

The ingredient list is common. We see several stimulants with some arginine and ornithine to support nitric oxide production and vasodilation. These are the same ingredients in other supplements.

There is some resveratrol, a strong antioxidant and saw palmetto that supports prostrate health; little additions that make the formula unique, but not necessarily more effective.

Advantages

  • All ingredients are listed on the official website.
  • The product may increase vasodilation.

Disadvantages

  • Not designed for the average dieter.

Conclusion

Creatine, arginine, caffeine and piperine make for a strong vasodilator. Ravage offers some unique ingredients but they do not make this supplement extreme. The average bodybuilder would take this supplement and run, but the seasoned, extreme bodybuilder wants to know how much of each ingredient is included and that is the information GNC withholds. GNC needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to create the best supplement without hiding information.
