RestorDetox is an oral drop supplement from Stuart Consumer Product Labs. The drops claim to detox the liver, lungs, kidneys, skin and digestive system. The word detox has become synonymous with cleansing, which likely means this supplement contains some form of natural laxative and diuretic. All of the ingredient names are in herbal form – the names of the plants are used not the commonly used supplement names. This could confuse the consumer into believing dangerous ingredients are not included in restorDetox, but there are a few ingredients consumers should worry about.

Product Features

As you can tell from the ingredient list, there are only a few recognizable ingredients. Most are hidden behind the scientific names of each ingredient. The trouble with products like restorDetox is not necessarily the ingredients, but the long list of potential benefits for each ingredient. Few of these herbal ingredients have been clinically tested on humans.

Taraxacum is the scientific name for dandelion root. This ingredient is a diuretic used to increase urine output or reduce water weight. You can find dandelion root in weight loss and cleansing/detox supplements. Diuretics can cause potassium and sodium loss similar to sweating.

Ceanothus americanus, also known as horsetail, is a natural diuretic and laxative. Fucus ves also has laxative effects. Laxatives are commonly used in detox supplements to rid the body of waste build-up. The theory that the body holds on to waste is not founded in medical science though western diets tend to cause constipation for some dieters via increased processed food intake and reduce fruit and vegetable intake.

Advantages

  • A complete list of ingredients was found online for restorDetox.

Disadvantages

  • The formula contains both diuretics and laxatives.
  • Dieters should not use restorDetox as a weight loss supplement.

Conclusion

RestorDetox is not a safe and effective weight loss supplement. The ingredients are hidden behind scientific names and the use of diuretics and laxatives can lead to dehydration, among other negative side effects. Loss of potassium and sodium from increased urine and waste output could lead to muscle cramping and death, in severe cases.
