Screamin Energy Review
What You Should Know
Screamin Energy claims to be a high endurance energy formula ideal for athletes and anyone who needs lots of energy right now. The star ingredient in the formula is 1,000 mg of ginseng, but we were also thrilled to find chromium in the mix. Like many supplements today, the caffeine content is hidden behind the source ingredient, guarana, which could be the biggest mistake Screamin Energy could make.
List of Ingredients
- Korean Ginseng
- Guarana Seed Extract
- Gotu Kola Extract
- St. John’s Wort
- Astragalus Root
- Fo Ti Root
- Gingko Biloba Leaf
- Eleuthero Root
- Capsicum Fruit
When we said leaving off the caffeine content could be the biggest mistake Screamin Energy could make, we were wrong. The idea behind creating the perfect dietary supplement for energy is to make it available to and safe for the masses. Screamin Energy adds St John’s Wort, an ingredient with quite the negative history. St. John’s Wort is known to interfere with anesthesia and may interfere with medications taken to alter mood like antidepressants. There is no reason to add an ingredient like St. John’s Wort, which takes up to four weeks to alter mood if it works at all. Hopefully, dieters are not taking a convenience store energy pill for the next month.
Back to the missing caffeine – Screamin Energy does contain caffeine, but instead of adding it to the pills the company chose to use guarana, a natural source of caffeine. Guarana supplies the caffeine, but because the company did not have to add it to the formula. The caffeine that comes from guarana is the same caffeine that increases heart rate and causes jitters in high quantities. Unfortunately, the dieter is left wondering just how much caffeine is added thanks to the guarana and when a dieter doesn’t have the information they need to make s safe, educated decision about a supplement we suggest they choose a different supplement.
- All ingredients are listed on the product label.
- The supplement is conveniently packaged with one dose per packet.
- May be safe for some dieters who need an extra energy boost.
- Should not be taken with supplements that contain caffeine.
- St. John’s Wort is not safe for all dieters.
- The company lists all ingredients in one large proprietary blend.
Screamin Energy could be a great supplement, especially with the addition of chromium to control appetite, but the St. John’s Wort and missing caffeine totals means we give this one the thumbs down. Supplement companies need to give customers the information they need to make a smart choice and Precise Nutrition, the manufacturer, does not do that.
