What You Should Know
Slimcare is a stimulant weight loss formula with green tea and garcinia cambogia. The other ingredients in the formula are commonly used to decrease hunger, block fat absorption and block carbohydrate absorption, depending on the supplement description and how the company wants to market the product. In the case of Slimcare, the company does not mention why these ingredients are added to the formula, just that they are effective for improving weight loss. There are a couple indications that the company is not sure about their own formula.
List of Ingredients
- Garcinia Cambogia Fruit Extract
- Brown Seaweed
- Green Tea Extract
- Caralluma Fimbriata
Garcinia cambogia extract is the first ingredient on the list. That means this ingredient is also the most highly concentrated. There was a time when garcinia cambogia was the go-to ingredient for many big name supplement companies like Hydroxycut, but there were complaints of liver damage associated with the ingredient and now those companies have reformulated their supplements to include green coffee bean or another stimulant in place of garcinia cambogia. If there is even a small chance this ingredient could cause negative side effects, the dieter should skip it.
Green tea extract is a proven metabolism booster. We’d love to know how much is in the formula, but we couldn’t find that information anywhere online. If there is enough green tea – say 300 to 350 mg – this supplement could boost metabolism. However, there is still the negative effect of the garcinia cambogia to contend with.
The remaining two ingredients are caralluma fimbriata and brown seaweed. Caralluma Fimbriata is supposed to increase weight loss, but animal study results fall on both sides of the fence. Some studies show good results and some show no results. There are no human studies to speak of. Fucoxanthin is in the same boat with animal studies with differing results and no human studies.
- The ingredients in the Slimcare formula are listed online.
- Contains green tea extract.
- Garcinia cambogia is associated with liver damage.
- Contains an unknown amount of green tea.
- Contains two ingredients that may or may not help weight loss.
Slimcare basis weight loss claims on garcinia cambogia, green tea and two ingredients with no human studies. If you leave those two ingredients out of the formula, you are left with one proven and one potentially dangerous ingredient. The dieter may be more successful choosing a standard green tea extract than Slimcare.
