Solaray Refresh is a gentle cleanser with just a few ingredients. Unlike many colon cleansers, Solaray Refresh aims to give the intestinal system a little push toward a cleaner existence. That push may be gentle for some, or harsh for others.

The official website for Solaray does not offer much information on formulas, ingredients are not listed for any of the products and navigation is confusing. Consumers wishing to find out more information on Solaray Refresh can find what they need to know from third party websites. Prices for Solaray Refresh differ from seller to seller, but average $6.00 per 60 capsules bottle. Bottles with 120 capsules are also available for about twice the price.

List of Ingredients

L. Acidophilus, Alfalfa Juice, Rosemary Extract and Aloe Vera Gel.

Product Features

Solaray Refresh is similar to some gentle colon cleansers produced by other companies. This cleanser includes acidophilus and aloe vera gel, which seems a bit silly. The aloe vera gel will have a laxative effect on the body. This will wash away probiotics in the intestine. Commonly, dieters or consumers choosing a natural laxative will need to replace probiotics bacteria after the cleanse is complete. Any probiotics added to Solaray Refresh will not stay in the intestine long enough to make a difference.

Alfalfa juice and rosemary extract are a good source of fiber and antioxidant respectively. Rosemary also offers anti-bacterial properties and cleansing attributes. The cleansing, however, seems to be more literal than the dieter may like. Rosemary extract is used in facial cleansers and shampoos for its natural cleansing abilities.

Solaray Refresh pushes the power of probiotics in much of the online literature marketing the product. Probiotic levels are often disrupted by unhealthy eating and environmental factors, but adding acidophilus to Solaray Refresh with a natural laxative is also an ingredient is a waste of some good bacteria. The aloe vera will cause increased bowel movements and, potentially, diarrhea. Diarrhea is one of the main reasons probiotics levels diminish in the first place.

  • A complete ingredient list was found online.
  • The product is priced lower than other alternatives.
  • Several online retailers sell Solaray Refresh.

  • Added acidophilus will rinse out of the body.
  • Aloe vera gel is nothing more than a laxative.
  • Rosemary extract is often used in shampoo as a cleanser.

Solaray Refresh will probably not work in the body as the online literature describes. While probiotics are healthy additions to supplements and diary, their effect will be limited in Solaray Refresh due to the natural laxative, aloe vera. If the dieter wants to jump start weight loss, colon cleansers are not the right idea. Instead, the dieter may choose a fat burner or appetite suppressant to help increase calorie burn or decrease calorie intake.
