SomniLean is a natural sleep supplement that increase metabolism at night. Typically, fat burners increase metabolism by increasing heart rate, but this is not the case with PM-style supplements. Stimulants cannot be used in PM supplements like SomniLean because stimulants will keep the dieter awake at night and the purpose of a night time diet supplement is to promote healthy sleep and increase metabolism during sleep. The first few ingredients are basic vitamins and minerals found in every multi-vitamin. They have no impact on sleep or weight loss. The proprietary blend includes various herbs to help improve sleep like valerian root, melatonin and 5-hydroxytryptophan. These may help the user sleep better, but they will have no impact on metabolism. Green tea extract contains EGCG, proven to increase metabolism. The decaffeinated version used in SomniLean will not increase heart rate, but it will provide a great source of EGCG for weight loss. Apple cider vinegar has no impact on sleep or weight loss.

This supplement contains only one proven weight loss ingredient, but sleep is very important to weight loss. With proper amount of deep sleep, the dieter feels better and tends to maintain a better attitude about weight loss. The lack of stimulating ingredients means the supplement can be used in conjunction with a stimulating fat burner during the day for double the effect. The day time fat burner should include proven ingredients like chromium for appetite control, caffeine for a metabolism boost and more green tea.

SomniLean may be an effective night time supplement to increase weight loss, though not directly with heart stimulation as day time supplements work. The night time support for deep sleep is enough to help the body recover more quickly from the stresses of weight loss, dieting and exercise. In addition, EGCG is proven to boost metabolism without boosting heart rate so the dieter can sleep well and lose more weight. This product is not ideal as a day time weight loss supplement so the dieter may want to choose a stimulating supplement for day time use.
