Source Naturals Chlorella Review
What You Should Know
Source Naturals offers three different varieties of Chlorella, Yaeyama, Emerald Garden Organic and Broken Cell Wall. Chlorella is a natural source of protein, essential amino acids as well as chlorophyll. On the surface, Source Naturals Chlorella is a healthy supplement which energizes the body, supports the immune system, as well as cleanses the body. Upon further research, we didn’t find scientific research supporting any of the claims provided by the company listed on the Source Naturals website. Although we did find the complete ingredient list on the official website, not much more is available to the dieter.

Some dieters look for a healthy, lean source of plant protein. Source Naturals Chlorella fits the bill. There is a slight problem with this complete protein, however. When Chlorella is processed for use in supplements, it loses all the healthy properties promoted by supplement companies. Chlorella is only healthy in its natural state, so dieters expecting to see health benefits like reduced blood pressure, detoxification and cleansing are going to be disappointed. There are dieters who claim the algae has other health benefits and thus continue to take supplements like Source Naturals Chlorella, but benefits after processing are not proven.
In a natural state, Source Naturals Chlorella is an amazing product. It has been shown to have anti-tumor properties in animal studies and it may help the body heal after exposure to radiation. Again, these benefits are not associated with Source Naturals Chlorella, just the natural form of Chlorella.
There are no known weight loss benefits. The supplement will not increase metabolism or cause the body to burn more fat. Chlorella does not suppress appetite directly, but the protein in the supplement may help ease cravings between meals.
- Source Naturals lists ingredients for all Chlorella supplements.
- May provide a lean source of protein.
- In a natural state, Chlorella may reduce blood pressure and have anti-tumor effects.
- Processed Chlorella loses all health benefits.
- The supplement is not associated with reduced appetite or increased metabolism.
A supplement company can research an ingredient and publish a long list of health benefits in a product description. The dieter is expected to believe everything they read. In the case of Source Naturals Chlorella, none of the health benefits are true. When the Chlorella is taken out of its natural state and processed in supplement form, it loses all the best benefits and the dieter is left with a useless algae supplement.
